    68-70 charger original exhaust tips

There is currently a nice chrome set for sale on eBay, by another vendor. More correct than the Accurate Exhaust product. Price is less than I paid for an excellent used set of originals for my GTX last year. Vendor is 521 Restorations. You can save money by dealing with the vendor directly...

    68-70 charger original exhaust tips

These are the correct style for a '68 R/T. The reproduction chromed ones are still available from Accurate Exhaust.

    68-70 charger original exhaust tips

These are reproductions that are a fairly close match to the originals. OEM tips will show a seam on the bottom, and die marks from when they were formed will be visible under the chrome. On reproductions, the die marks are removed before the chrome is applied. On originals, the hanger arm will...

What is the going rate for a 68 these days?

If you decide to go that way, you need to buy the best time slot you can. Cars crossing the block early in the week tend to be underbid, and picked up by dealers. The stuff hitting the block during prime time draws the high prices, and the auctioneer puts more effort into working the crowd...

What is the going rate for a 68 these days?

If you are willing to risk some money up front to possibly get a better price, the Mecum Indy auction coming up might be an option. I consigned my 1969 A33 GTX to them a few years back, Covid cancelled that event. I sold the car private party a year later for less than market to close a deal...

    68 vs 69 values?

They all leaked in my GTX from the time it was new. The upside was the rusted original metal was all replaced with OEM when it was still available. It still leaks, but is pristine under the carpet.

    Anyone heard of: All-Classics.com???

In 2013, I bought Baby Blue for the second time, sight unseen. I got to know the current owner pretty well before doing the deal, which turned out to be terrific for both of us. I sold my Hemi car on this site to a fellow member. I was a bit surprised when he did the deal based on my...

    auction, or sell out right?

You have made good points in your post. I have sold both ways. My former A33, numbers matching '69 GTX, which I sold two years ago, illustrates the pros and cons of different approaches. I put the car on the for sale site here twice, and generated a lot of interest. I priced it what I...

Which car is worth more ?

How many of us sold a Mopar back in the day for a home? I did but don’t regret it, got a better one later. Home appreciation eclipsed what the car would be worth today.

Will look forward to seeing it at Carlisle. Looks like it was well worth the wait.

Original Owner 68 Charger Daily Driver

And maybe put oil in the usual trouble spots, including the trunk floor. Had a buddy do this with his GTX, and it held up after twelve winters. I did the same with Baby Blue in 1983. Both cars never restored. Dave owned his GTX until he passed in 2014, 45 years.

Finally found 1 but how much is it worth today

I keep wondering when the bubble is going to burst, but it doesn't seem to be happening. Chargers see way more demand than GTXs - But look at the price of the one I used to own. Previous owner bought it on eBay in 2013 for 18K, running driving, fresh engine. Put 30K into it. Current asking...

Valuation Ideas On 69 Chargers In The Last 5 Years??

I've been able to exchange pricing information with others on this site, and found it helpful. There is no question that there are myriad factors that go into pricing any given car, and the pool of qualified buyers is relatively small.

Valuation Ideas On 69 Chargers In The Last 5 Years??

Second generation Chargers seem to have entered the realm of the high end Forward Look convertibles (Desoto Adventurer, Chrysler 300 letter cars in particular). Outstanding styling, combined with top of the heap performance during their era. These traits seem to be the ones that cross...

Valuation Ideas On 69 Chargers In The Last 5 Years??

Back in the day when I couldn't afford either, I preferred the GTX over the Charger. Then in the 1970s they both fell out of favor, and I was able to afford my first GTX. The pendulum will probably swing back in your favor within your lifetime - your financial status will improve, and the cars...

    Modtop charger?

I met the owner of one of the mod top Barracudas at the Chrysler Nationals a few years ago. I had just read a feature in the Wall Street Journal about a teenager who fell in love with the package when the dealer in her home town put one in the show room. I was amazed when she confirmed that the...

Why it seems just about every Charger for sale has fresh thick undercoating?

Baby Blue was driven 100,000 well maintained daily miles, then taken off the road when I bought her in 1983. Rust repair in the left quarter and a $2000 respray in 1985. Hardly a show poodle, but keeping her out of the elements enabled her to survive another 35 years with no deterioration...

Why it seems just about every Charger for sale has fresh thick undercoating?

Baby Blue (my former '68 GTX) was the same. Car came from the DC metro area, and still had (has) perfect original floor pans and trunk floor. I won't say this is because of the undercoating, it was actually my friend Bob's fanatic attention to sealing the water leak points our cars are famous...

    68 identification numbers

Bought the car from the second owner in 1983. The original owner was a friend of his father. The car was documented back to day one, all original paint and decals in the engine compartment when I bought it. No question the core support was the original.

    68 identification numbers

Baby Blue, my former '68 GTX was a relatively early build Lynch Road car (December '67), and I never could locate the SO number on the radiator support. Car did have the VIN stamped on the engine and transmission. My '68 Hemi GTX, a February Lynch Road car, has all the numbers in place.
