This was brought up in a Street Outlaws episode recently. Even they don't allow external weights on a car for safety reasons. I doubt NHRA or IHRA do either.

I did it on my SB 400 Chevy some of years back. It has a different sound now. More like an LS then a small block. Why did I do it? Because I felt like it, no other reason. Just to be different.

Lol. That was me in the other lane in my unpainted Corvette. I forgot to drop the air pressure in the tires and it spun right trough the 60ft mark and then some. Your car hauls ***. You made my car look like I was driving a 4 cyclinder with a miss. Nice run! :thumbsup:

Not quite. The Ford 9" gets a lot of its strength due to the addition of the lower pinion bearing. That is something that the 8 3/4" rear does not have. And yes, the Dana 60 is just built bigger and stronger than the 8 3/4 hence the weight difference.

how do you like the gear drive for the cam? I never used one. How noisy is it?
