Anyone come up with any kind of guard to go around the overhead springs in case they snap into multiple pieces none of the pieces damage our wonder Mopars?
Mine broke one time. It takes two small diameter pipes (just over 5/16 I.D.) slide over the head of the lock down set screw bolts to turn the tension wheels. These bolts on mine were a 5/16" square headed bolt. If I remember correctly, it took like 24 quarter turns to get mine to have enough...
Mine can also be wire for 110V or 220V. It is currently wired on 110V due to my air compressor and welder are plugged in to my two 220V outlets already. Yes, the 110V goes up slightly slower but it's not bad. Still picks up my big ole Sea body with easy. I mainly use mine for storage, but I do...
I have a 4 post mainly for storage. I did get the trolley jack also. It came with the caster kit and 3 drip trays also. I added LED strip lights underneath. No need for drop lights when working on something.
I like LED's for my shop lights, drop lights etc, but never on a classic car. Everytime I see them on an older car I think they ruined the classic look.
I mainly use mine for storage, but I do have the hydraulic bridge jack for maintenance on vehicles as well. Mine is 10-4". It is tight, but I make it work. Agree with above, 12' is ideal.
Mine is rated for 7000 lbs. First thing I did was put my 74 New Yorker up on it at 6420 lbs to test it out before the installers even left. It lifted as high as I can with no problem and did not even bog it down from the weight.
I always clean the bench and the garage after the last job and put all tools away. That way I am ready to go with the next new job. I can't tell you how annoying it is at some of my other buddies garages when we spend more time looking for tools and parts than we do actually working on the task...
Mine was installed. They kind of get you. If I installed the lift, it came with only a 30 day guarantee on parts. If they installed it came with a 100% 1 year warranty on parts and labor issues. It was good thing I let them, because I did have to have them swap out the motor because the switch...
I have a 4 post. You have the room. I would say 2 post over a 4 post. However, I have the jack option on my 4 post so I can do brakes and suspension. Can't do a trans swap or exhaust work though. I have thought about making one of the center braces swing out of the way or make it removable for...
