What is all needed to convert to EFI?

The fuel and the electrical systems are usually the things that most don't think about until its biting them in the backside. The fuel system is generally pretty straightforward in that you need a pump, filters, fuel line and fittings, however it can get overwhelming pretty quickly. The...

What is all needed to convert to EFI?

So much has been written about this subject and there is so much information online. You are going to need The EFI system of choice (in your case the Sniper) EFI rated fuel filters (2 of them, a 10 and 100 micron) EFI rated line (Rubber, SS braided, steel) The various fittings to connect the...

    Long ram install

I am just a bystander in this deal, he told me that is what he was planning to do and I saw this thread so I thought I would share. I will say that wheres there a will theres a way and I am a big proponent of people doing what they want with their cars. I am quite certain someone has done it...

    Long ram install

I have a friend that is attempting exactly this, his solution is going to be to have angle plates made to tilt the rams up. This is a 440 in a 62 dart.

What is this 6 pack set up worth- original mint DC Hussle stuff 440 6pack

I still have a 440 6 pack set up (AM Eddy intake but original carbs I think) laying around, also have nitrous plates for one someone gave me. I took it off my 70 Challenger when I went to EFI 6 pack. Not sure what I will do with the intake or the plates but I am sure I will figure it out at some...

What is this 6 pack set up worth- original mint DC Hussle stuff 440 6pack

I remember "back in the day" when you could order these from DC. The only guys I ever saw run them were racers, the progressive linkage could be a bit problematic to get just right but once you did they worked pretty well. This fantasy that in stock form everything was perfect or as good as it...

What is this 6 pack set up worth- original mint DC Hussle stuff 440 6pack

Well they are not all that rare to be honest (440 6 pack that is), it wasn't all that long ago that you could buy an entire setup new for like $2800, a friend of mine just sold a used set up that included the Air cleaner for $2500 ( might have been $2200).

    fuel line that dont leak

Same thing for me, I have had MANY Holley carbs over the last 40+ years and never had a problem with them leaking. That said, I have seen some that leaked on other's cars and the reason was 2 fold; over tightened and/or misaligned.

Soldering vapor return onto a factory sender - how to avoid melting isolator?

Congrats, good work. If you decide you want/need a bead in the end of that return line here's a tip, get some solid core wire (like for a house), cut off a piece and make a loop that fits over the line with the ends as close as possible, then solder that wire onto the tube and you have yourself...

Soldering vapor return onto a factory sender - how to avoid melting isolator?

Small hand held butane torch provides a high degree of control and accuracy for applying the heat. As mentioned, direct the heat mostly onto the tube neat the hole it is to go through and have the solder at the ready. It won't take much heat or time to get it done. I have done probably 3 or 4 of...

EFI fuel sending unit return line upgrade?

5/16 will get it done unless you are making big power (like well over 600)

    Drain back

I would install it before the fuel pump.

    Drain back

Install a check valve in the line, I had the same issue with my 70 Challenger (440) because it would sit a lot (still does) but I changed it to EFI which solves this issue due to the electric fuel pump. The other option is to install an electric fuel pump in the rear that will allow you to...

74 Charger has anyone installed an efi in tank pump on the factory sending unit??

    Fitech

While there is no doubt that there are bad FI units (just as there is bad carbs), but IMO many of those that "have problems" with FI generally did not install the "system" correctly, used inferior components and/or have a substandard electrical system. I have installed a couple of Fitech systems...

69 RR efi conversion - would you consider this efi fuel pump excessively loud.

I have an in tank TANKs pump and an Walbro frame mounted pump (2 different vehicles) and neither sounds anything like that. My guess is that that pump is defective.

    Finally EFI

Do not use aluminum lines, most of the EFI manufacturers recommend against it. "Economical" is a relative term because regardless of how you do it, there is either a front cost or rear cost. Here are some options EFI rated rubber line back to front: going to be your cheapest route but is not...

    I Finally Did It.....EFI

    Engine Stalling After Short Drive

Sure seems like there are multiple things going on here. If it were me, I would either replace the carb with something that is a known entity (as in something that works), check for or better yet disconnect and plug all vacuum ports and then see if I could get it to idle, then load it up (brakes...
