    I have to disagree, swapping the field wires should have no effect, if is does there is something going on inside the alternator. Put it this way, if the field connections had to be a specific way Ma Mopar would have labeled them or made a connector that only allowed them to be connected in one way.

    Awesome story, great car. Just something about a 6 pack car, I've never owned a factory one but I have owned (and still own) a number of cars with 6 packs; currently a 440 and stroked 340 with EFI 6 packs, love them.

    Changing thermostat. Any firm recommendations?

    I really like Safe T Thermostats, lock open if the car (engine) overheats, very handy, run them in all my cars.
