Couple items..
final primer color will drastically effect the tint on the base coat or single stage.
I would take a panel and tape off separate areas and use different colored primers in each one.
put the tinted base or SS over each and see which you like best before priming and painting the...
if you want paint wobble gone and really flat, wrap a hard stick with the sand paper (like a paint mix stick, just harder wood or plastic).
wet sand with that. takes longer but results are great.
if you want a factory type finish us a hard pad when wet sanding.
last sand (imho) nothing...
Also -
you will need to wipe Ospho (rust converter) on the bare metal - convert rust, DA and then epoxy.
Not matter how hard you try to sand our rust, it will still stay behind in the micro small pit holes in the metal.
If it is not converted prior to putting epoxy or sealer on the bare...
very unlikely it will cause you any problems inside the car.
if your drain slots under the door are open all the way, water will run out, land on the sill plates.
but the gap is normal by the vent window.

Wanted to be sure I had the correct mirror.

a NOS one came with the car, but only reference I had to a "racing mirror" was from my 70' SixPack Challenger.

removed all the under hood parts for the air grabber.
kinda hard to tell the correct plating for certain parts. Parts rusty or faded.
1. bracket that holds vacuum actuator for the door.
2. vacuum actuator
3. rod that connects all moving parts together.
