I've done some research and plan on making the switch eventually, everyone I've seen do it loves it. There's quite a few options now and the price has dropped dramatically, some do their own using Astro van setups as well. My advice to anybody in the middle of a build is to do it now if your...
Makes me think that somewhere in the rebuilding process it got messed up if it's all original but nonetheless yes moving 180 should at least get it going the right direction.
Take the arm off of the motor, rotate 180 and reinstall. I'm just thinking this out in my head but if the arm is facing down looking at it from within the car and rotates clockwise then it will begin by pushing which moves the wipers down, turn it 180 degrees (facing up) and it will begin...
It's definitely not a fun job, I did mine by myself after a pro did it 3 times and it still leaked! One very important thing these guys left out about having a pro do it is make sure it's a pro at doing THESE cars. The guy that installed mine had no idea it required a bedding compound at the...
Or commit a felony.
I went through the same deal, car was to cheap to pass up but was missing the dash, took it to the State Trooper inspection station where they confirmed it's legitimacy then got a state issues vin tag. I was told to just throw another tag on it by others but I'm not one to...
I'm not a Chevy guy but if I were to buy one it would be a mid 60's like your wife's, sharp car. Your car on the other hand... I'm diggin it, sweet ride!
Can't wait to hear how you like that suspension upgrade.
Loved it, that looks way to fun! What kind of power are you pushing?
Nice ride. One thing for sure is driving these old cars somehow seams to put everything at ease. Thanks for sharing.
You mentioned recoring the radiator, is it getting hot... 200 or less isn't a problem. What your describing sounds like boiled fuel in the fuel line except the fact that it starts after 15 minutes (boiled fuel in the lines usually just requires a few seconds of cranking the motor)? If it is it...
I'm not a 383 hater by any means, I actually really like them I just see extra cubes as free horespower so why go smaller? Just to shed more light on the B vs RB blocks.... to incease the cubes Mopar added 3/4" to the block height (raised block) to lengthen the stroke which obviously makes them...
A 400 is a BB and has a larger bore with less weight, height and width, with a 440 or stroker crank it's my pick..... I like the best of all worlds:lol:.
Also most don't realize their value so they're usually pretty cheap.
I like big blocks myself and cooling is not an issue at all if you put a big enough radiator and fan on them. This will get expensive quick in comparison to working with what you have so if you do it I wouldn't even consider a 383. My vote is put a good set of heads, cam, intake and carb on it...
