If I was doing this there's no way I'd be putting the 727 behind it, your throwing out most of the efficiency right there. I see both sides of the argument here, I too like the classic sound of a BB but as soon as you start moving towards efficiency, reliability, driveability, etc a modern...
I did it to a 69 Charger so not the same but you'll need to mod the torsion bar cross member as well.https://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/threads/viper-t56-install.85042/
Starts on page 4, not the same but should give you a feel for what it involves.

Hope mine doesn't croak! I'm running a Derale, so far so good, it's been in there for a couple years now. Can't remember the model but it kicks one on at a certain temp then the other along with turning one on when the A/C is running. I'll be keeping an eye on it.
The cover isn't a bad thing to have but not necessarily needed either unless your on gravel and dirt roads, I'd just make one out of sheet metal. As for the bracing the 318 in my dad's truck has nearly identical bracing only it's steel brackets on both sides instead of being part of the pan...

I tried sending you a PM but it's not showing up as sent? Is your inbox full? Anyways I'm willing to sell the panel you asked about that's on my car, it's already painted and ready to bolt on. Thanks
I go through local salvage yards, I go to the insurance auction website and let them know if I see something I like. I give them the amount I'm willing to pay and they bid on it.
I've installed a Viper T56 in mine which is basically the same tranny, it requires allot of work but after a whole summer of driving it let me assure you it's worth every bit of it and then some. $5,000 for that low mileage sounds like a no brainer, buying all the stuff including the tranny new...
Don't blame you, I cringe at the prices they want for allot of things. If you do a rack "yourself" be sure to post what you used and how you did it because there's plenty of us that are pondering it ourselves. Good luck
First off, Wow that's a really nice looking Charger and an interesting way of bolting a motor in there haha. I'd really have to go measure (I have a 69 Charger) but the motor is positioned to where you can just take out the 2 top transmission bolts from on top so the back of the motor is maybe...
