I compared my Innovia to my Craftsman knob-type dial back and it read about 1 degree more advance than my Craftsman. I say “about” as that little knob is kind of hard to fine tune with.
 Excellent light. Nice to be able to use one instrument for timing, rpm and dwell. Only caveat is keep the pickup away from the exhaust manifold heat - it’s not heat resistant in the least.
Bandit67’s thread prompted me to get off dead center and get a cleaner - I went with the Creworks too after a bit of research but decided I could get by with a 15L model. I have an old AVS hanging on the wall that I decided to use for a test subject. Results look good. It’s not going to...
If I ever have reason to question the use of my couple sets of decades old feeler gages for a calibration check of my calipers I’m not sure what I will fall back on.
I bought one on Amazon last year but I still found many of them to be slightly off. I’ve just got used to picking one of the size I need by first checking it with my caliper. At least they were progressive and if one was undersized the next one up usually checked out the diameter I wanted. I...
I have the Groits G15 long throw orbital as well as some older orbitals and high speed rotary polishers. The Groits G15 is a serious buffer. If you want even more there is the extra long throw G21 that is recommended for professionals.
My old Auto lifters is dead stable - no movement. It’s sitting on RaceDeck and I have two pieces of 3/8” MDF under each column - which I used before the RaceDeck to cushion the concrete in case I came down a bit harder than intending. I put it on over the RaceDeck rather than discard them. My...
Just asking for my own education - was the free replacement policy one from Craftsman or one from Sears. Lowes carries Craftsman here now but curious if they honor the same policy?
Nothing revolutions but seems a good, common sense summary. My welding skills are basically of Fred Flintstone quality so some pointers are always welcome.
That thread chaser set looks identical to the one I got from I think Eastwood almost 30 years ago - just different placard and supplier info on it. It has served me well through several old cars.
Yes, thread cleaning dies and taps do not oversize your holes or undersize your bolts like thread cutting dies and taps “can” do. Or at least that’s what I’ve been told. I got a set from Eastwood about 30 years ago.
You can see the Cobra over against the wall past the Lightning - which has now been replaced by a 66 Hemi Satellite. Not thinking about parking any of these outside for the thieves.
I don’t think you are going to find them less than that although I did see Harbor Freight has some on sale for $85 but expires in two days. My mechanical pump up HF models have held up well - don’t know about the hydraulic ones...
