    recently rebuilt 1962 413 motor

Thank-you! I stand corrected, as there is a 'SLOT' at the end of the distributor shaft, that engages the oil pump. The distributor could be 180 degree's out-of-sync, but not sure the car would start...

    recently rebuilt 1962 413 motor

My $0.02... regardless of whether/or not the secondaries are opening, a 413 (or any other engine), wouldn't go just 40 mph, & flatten-out at 70mph! Sounds to me, that the timing is way too far retarded, and/or the distributor position is off. Disconnect coil wire, pull #1 spark plug, find TDC...

Mike: I had an 8V-71 series Detroit V-8 Diesel, in a new '74 Peterbilt Conventional, when I was hauling a tanker for Redwing Carriers, under an "Incentive" contract w/Gulf Oil Corp. - in Port Everglades. ~Maybe you noticed the diesel engine options, in the link I posted about the Dodge...

Talk-about poor truck sales!!! :( The grand total being 261 Bighorns produced between late 1972 and May of 1975, when Dodge ceased production of these trucks. Short lived but making these trucks today rare and highly sought after. http://www.olddodges.com/bighorn.htm

1974 Dodge "Big Horn" model, personalized by current owner. See next post for prototype truck/tractor, used in Dodge truck advertising... "N-O-T" a 426 wedge! Dodge's answer (?) - to a personalized Owner-Operator offering...that had dismal sales. Cab was derived form the pick-up truck...

In 1972, I saw a used single-axle Dodge Truck/Tractor )"gas job") - for sale, in Hollywood, Florida. Engine was a "426" wedge! (I know), as I checked-it out. It had the short top hood, with the sides-that "swing-out" - for engine access. Looked identical to this red one, except the color...

    440 in 65?

Back to the original query, the guy with the '65 Satellite, and a 440 engine casting date in late 1965. This was destined for: 1966 C-Body cars. No "B-Body" cars, had a 440, in 1966. That started in 1967... Cheers...not Leers!

    440 in 65?

Plymouth DID have a 440 option, for 1966. Dodge Monaco car model, Chrysler, & Imperial too. NONE of these are B-Body cars...as most of us know. As stated in the brochure that I posted (and other places), it was a "440/365" horsepower rated engine, NOT a 426/365. Again, the Fury I, II, III, &...

FYI, 426H Wedge 10.3 CR was offered in '66 according to my Service Manual, but apparently only in the Sport Fury. My '66 Service Manual does not reference 440's for Plymouth models, but I know they became available for some '66 Dodge Chargers. Don't think 440's were readily available in '66 much...

Sales brochure for the 1966 Plymouth Fury featuring the Sport Fury, Fury III, Fury II, and Fury I in 4-door sedan, 2-door sedan, convertible, and station wagon body styles. Engine options include a 145hp 225ci 6-cylinder, 230hp 318ci V8, 270hp 383ci 2-barrel Commando V8, 325hp 383ci 4-barrel...

The Street Wedge (426/365), was available only in B-Body cars (Plymouth and Dodge) and light-duty Dodge D Series trucks. It was an increased-bore version of the standard New Yorker/Imperial 413 single 4-barrel engine. If your Service Manual shows a 426/365 Street wedge, ONLY in the "Sport Fury"...

The Street Wedge 426/365 were offered two years only. 1964, & 1965. The last year for the 426 Max Wedge's, was 1964. The 426 race Hemi debuted in 1964, eventually replacing the Max Wedge engines. The last 426 Max Wedge production ended, right about the last of March, 1964. The 426 Race Hemi...

    440 in 65?

The 440 first appeared in 1966. Chrysler marketed the 440 as the "TNT" in its Chrysler cars, the Super Commando in Plymouths and the Magnum in Dodge vehicles. The 440 remained the largest passenger car version of the big Chrysler V8's until production ended in 1978. No "B" body passenger...
