    What are these called?

The original Title read: ~What are these called?~ The poster's query was: "I would like to know what these trim pieces are called, so I don't sound like a complete tard when looking for them. this isn't my car its just something I grabbed off google images." I'm pretty certain he wasn't asking...

    What are these called?

They have a mopar part# on the back. They are the "dummy" louvers that were on 1965 Satellite (pictured), ONLY! Seven (7) on each-side, and the blk paint amongst the chrome (faux opening), correctly faces the rear...as this car has them mounted correctly! Cheers! AL

1965 Plymouth B-Body Aluminum Dash Housing

"A-N-Y" weight savings on any race car, is an advantage. For each 100 lbs. eliminated, it lowers E.T. by one-tenth-of-a-second (1/10th) (0.1). In the hotly contested Super Stock, A/FX cars, and the like from 1962 to 1969 (and beyond of course), any advantage over the competition, was welcomed...

    Dash pads

Here's a pic of my former "NEW" 1965 Satellite that I purchased in February, 1965. Non-padded-dash Satellite's had that horizontal bright trim piece, that went over to the glove box door. The padded dash 1965 Plymouth's did NOT have this trim piece. They also had eight (8) holes in the top of...

1965 Plymouth B-Body Aluminum Dash Housing

"Dashing Topic!" :) This is an A-990 car, sans the small stainless trim, that appeared on ALL the original Belvedere I cars, factory lightweight's & regular passenger cars. (many racer's removed the trim, filled-in the holes), and painted to suit. I did the same, on my '65 Bracket race car...

69bfan wrote: "I have a friend that has recently acquired a factory aluminum dash housing for a 65 Plymouth B-Body car." Apparently then, his friend didn't know the difference between a '64 & '65 Plymouth dash? Yes, they are totally different, but interchangeable, never-the-less... Also, 69bfan...

1965 Plymouth B-Body Aluminum Dash Housing

To the best of my knowledge, The 1965 AWB/AFX 2-dr. H.T. cars (Dodge & Plymouth), that were built by Amblewagon, had fiberglass dashboards. Also: The fenders, doors, hood, hoodscoop, bumpers, decklid, all fiberglass. In 1965, A-990 cars (Belvedere I's & Coronet 330's 2-dr. sedan's), had an...

    1964 Super Stock

The "hole" that' you're referring to had a chrome "button" when the car was heater delete. You're correct about the control buttons, with heater delete, as there are only two. Top button read "OFF" The bottom read "COOL" Same for the 1965 Dodge & Plymouth cars... Regards, AL
