That’s really good info. Can you share the track data for the three different set-ups?
Do you know the throttle bore and venturi size on the 850 Pro Form?
Thanks
The switch from the RPM to the SD, with no other change is probably worth 25 hp for the power range you should be in. As mentioned, it will be a little softer in the lower rpm range.
A 950 would be my choice as well, but they are not all created equal. If you have 3.23 gears and a relatively...
So good that you got to the track. Congrats.
When you say "stock" Stealths, I presume you mean OOTB.
I'm not sure what a Holley Street Dominator dual plane is - Do you have a picture?
12.6 @ 106 probably puts you at a 1.80 -18.5 sec 60'. Let us know. You will probably be dissapointed how...
Manual transmission cars will mph a little better than an auto car with the same power to weight ratio, but agree with you. INTMD8 has 1-2 mph on my 1/8 mile but almost 7 mph in trap speed.
What a great running car. Love the rpm combined with the manual tranny. That's pegging the fun meter
Thanks everyone.
So I did a deep dive into the data. I compared the previous best passes from, ugh, 2008, to the three best runs on Saturday and corrected all the results to standard conditions using an on-line calc. The et is exactly the same Saturday from the 2008 best runs. Saturday's...
Front tires are about .3" taller. Rears are the same.
Same gear and converter.
I had plans and prepared to try carb stuff and various valve lash adjustments. Did none of that. Mostly got reacquainted with the car. And honestly, pretty happy I made it there and back. It was 190 mile round...
Thought I'd make it out in May, then June. Life kept getting in the way. Last day of September. Better late than never.
Been a long time since I've been out. Of course, just like you're not supposed to do, I made 4 changes. Had the heads opened up to Max wedge size and 2.19 intake valves...
I don’t mean the motor. I’m referring to the driving and shifting or something
I have a time slip here with a 1.923 sec 60ft and a 117.49 trap speed, almost identical to yours. My et was 11.982. Like 33IMP said, it’s in the first half of the track.
So cool that you got out!!! Congrats!!
I’m not totally sure what you are asking for, but I will tell you this much, you can get into the 11s without even opening the hood. You can probably get there with practice alone. And it will take some practice. Or you can bolt on some better tires...
Go to Moparts and look up 383man (Ron)
63 Sport Fury-Street car
3900 lb race weight
500 in
EZ heads by PRH
264/270 solid flat tappet, 0.580” lift
10.6:1 CR
Full exhaust system
850 DP on an Indy dual plane intake
10.70s at 125 mph
You should be making more power than Ron, in a lighter car...
Those heads, cam, cubes, and weight in Wisconsin in September, I’d be looking for the reasons why it’s not trapping at 126 mph.
Can you try a big 4 bbl on a good single plane manifold?
If you do not fully understand the principles discussed in Posts #3, 4 and 8, then you should follow the advice in Post #9, which is probably what was recommended in Post #2
