I know this is not common, but when I was a teenager, my 65 Coronet had this problem. It ended up that where the wire lug made the connection inside the starter, on I guess it's the armature, the lug was worn down and loosing the connection at times.
I drove a 78 Dodge for many years. I carried a spare ignition module with me. They would occasionally fail. Two bolts and a wiring harness plug are all that's needed to swap one.
From dog poop to brussell sprouts. Still no plug fix. Sound like how I work on my Mopars too... By the way, my wife loves brussell sprouts. I eat them to be polite. I think of them as the testicles of the vegetable world though....
Maybe a dumb question, but is the physical position of the switch adjusted properly so the movement of the brake pedal makes the connection? I have seen them so far out of position that they did not work.
Yep. Just because it's new, don't mean the other flasher is good. Lots of parts made out of "chineseum" these days are defective right out of the box...
I did this once . Got the darn hole drilled off center, and was not able to use an EZ out, as it was actually biting into the cyl head. Sounds like you have a similar problem. I gave up. I took the opportunity to replace the valve seals and check out the cylinder heads as I swapped them from one...
I believe there are two different number bulbs for the dash sockets. (Maybe 194 and 158, but that is just TRYING to remember...) Anyway, one of those is brighter than the other. Perhaps that could be the issue?? Research your bulbs and their numbers.
Part numbers are for a reason. If it calls for 1157, why use a 1034? May be a slight difference in pin spacing or orientation, even if they look the same. 1157 used to be the most common small bulb used in car tail lights and park lights. Are they not available any more?
Those little allen keys have to be JUST the right size. Are you trying to use metric size keys? They should be American fractional sizes. Radio knobs should just pull straight off. I think I remember there is a brace bolted to back of radio also, but it's been a very long time....
Here is the switch on Rockauto. It is located on the left side of the transmission. There may be wear internally where it works inside the transmission. HOWEVER, a lot of times it is just wear and "play" in the linkage. Try putting if firmly into park, and/ or jiggle the shifter while turning...
What car and transmission? There is a switch that requires the auto transmission car to be in park or neutral before it will allow the engine to be cranked by the switch. Perhaps it is out of adjustment? And 1970 or later straight drives had a reverse lockout and perhaps a switch requiring the...
Is that the instrument cluster voltage regulator? Drops 12V down to about 5V for the temp, gas, and oil pressure gauges to work. (Looks like it may be that)
If I recall correctly, my old Accel dual point used the same cap as the old Mopar and Prestolite dual point distributors like the Mopars used in the 1960s. Try to find one for a 1967 Coronet R/T with a 440 /4 speed. They had the dual points from the factory.
Maybe this...
