Didn't Mopar make a change sometime in the early 70's to a cap that had longer "prongs"? Could it be that the NOS tank is an earlier or later part? I would imagine that the same body was used 1971 to 1974 for these cars??

I saw it done at the Mack Truck dealership I worked at in 1980. They had a buyer that wanted a black R-Model, so they painted a yellow one. I think they did the door jambs, but everything under hood was still yellow. LOL

If a 727, probably not. But a 904 will be shorter, so the driveshaft would be longer than one for a 727. I had to get a shaft when I went from a 440/727 to a 318/904 in a Charger.
