This is the one I replaced on my 64, and posted for sale. It needs rechroming, as the chrome was worn off on one section of the ring. It's been a while, and I don't remember for sure. But I THINK the top twists off to the left to expose the bottom section. Hope the picture helps.
I assume you know to NOT run a drill bit thru your carpet? It will pull long threads and ruin the carpet. Kind of like a run in lady's pantyhose. (Don't ask me how I found this out.....)
My 64 Fury has the plastic sleeves and retractors. The way the sleeve is shaped, I believe the sleeve and retractors were installed together. Maybe it was an option.
2 door, probably. The ends of the bottom cushions are shaped different on 4 doors. (Rounded off instead of fitting flush and square to the side panels.)
Interesting question. On 4 door sedans, the seat bottoms are finished on the sides, and the front corners are rounded. On 2 door hardtops, the seat bottoms are square on the corners, and I dont believe the upholstery is finished where the seats are butted up to the side panels. What does the 2...
