If this truck has a 318, it is probably actually a 318-3, which is a heavy duty truck engine. Different heads and valvetrain, etc. More torque than a car engine.
Pretty cool the way it is. Why go to 440? Need more speed? LOL
Seriously, it won't be a bolt in. Bell housing and related stuff will be different between the 318 and 440. I know several other things such as oil pan and exhaust manifolds are different between car engines and pickup engines as...
Another note on this question. I swapped the 8-3/4 rear from a 1972 D 100 pickup into my 78 D100. The 72 truck had RH lugs on both sides. I would have changed them over to RH to match the others on the 78 truck if they had been LH.
I owned a 63 Ply Belvedere once that was an ex-Va. State Police car. Big block/3 on the tree car. It had a certified speedometer and a front sway bar. I think it had that battery plate. (I know I have had one of those plates, and it was probably on that car. But it was many years ago, so not for...
My experience with Rock Auto is that they actually know NOTHING. I have learned to go online and find the part manufacturer's online application catalogs. Sometimes info can be found there that RA does not have or put into their listings. Or possibly contact the manufacturer. That was the only...
I recommend 5 qts of 10W40. I have used that weight oil in my Mopars for 40 years. Stay away from the Fram filters at Wal Mart. They are junk since Fram was sourced to China. As others have said, the Motorcraft FL 1A will work. Or a Wix, or Napa, etc at the parts store. There are two filters for...
That doesn't look right for a 1964 car. Unless maybe a California car has different stuff for emissions. My 64 Fury 361 just has the straight oil cap with the springy tabs that pulls straight up. PCV on the other side.
It dont affect the buttons. But the heat builds up excess pressure and will not allow the valve body to shift into the reverse. Same way a console shift will not go into reverse if overfilled.
I like it. Same color as my 67. My Mom has a 66 Coronet that I need to do some tinkering and body work on for her. 318 poly, and I get visions of a big block swap. BUT, the poly is a perfect running car....
