'71 road runner Brake Bleeding w/ Power Disk Front and Drum Rear - Do I Need to Have Engine Running?

The car does not have to be running. I would replace both as long as you are doing it (cheap insurance). One person bleeding without a bleeder tool (or second person) is not easy but it can be done. The trick is not to let air back into the lines when the brake pedal is released from the...

    Undercoating

This what my factory undercoating on the RR looked like after 48 years. Here in Michigan, if it wasn't undercoated, the road salt would have eliminated most of the underside metal. This was a daily driver back in the day, nothing special at the time. Driven hard and put away wet 12 months a...

    1973 RR Sway Bar Plates

JOHN, Your 73 has the ISO pads so your supports were 3722944 and 3722945. KS must have slid up a line when going across the page.

    1973 RR Sway Bar Plates

Yup I did mention time estimates. Those didn't last too long. If I didn't have a full time job then the build might have only taken a year. Seriously though, I did a lot more work on that car than I was planning on doing. Got a little **** about what had to be made right. No regrets, I...

    1973 RR Sway Bar Plates

I have a parts car that I know the axle was changed out on but I am not sure if the PO left the plates on. I will check this weekend and let you know. Below is a 1973 setup.

1968 dodge charger passenger front tire rub

I guess the first thing I would check is the steering centered. From center, the same number of turns lock to lock. Maybe the pitman arm is not clocked correctly, IIRC there are 4 master splines so I guess it could be off 90 degrees. Just thinking out loud.

1973 Upper Control Arm cross shaft nut torque spec

As originally posted, I have the shop manuals but did not have access to them while at work, and I needed a quick answer for the shop doing an alignment. If I could have found it on the web I would not have asked for the information. Simple question and 69Bee gave a timely answer that saved...

1973 Upper Control Arm cross shaft nut torque spec

At work and don't have access to my shop manuals. Can someone please let me know what the torque spec is for the cross shaft nuts that squeeze the UPC bushings is. Not the adjustment bolts, just the cross shaft end nuts. Vehicle is a 73 Roadrunner. For some reason 75 ft/lbs comes to mind but...

Searching for RUBBER front sway bar bushings - any help?

I used these bushings and they fit just about perfect. That being said, they were on a 73 Roadrunner. https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/c/masterpro-chassis/masterpro-chassis-stabilizer-bar-link-kit/mpc5/k5255?q=MPC+k5255&pos=0

What is the trick to changing out the bushing?

I am thinking that I can cut out the existing rubber, slide the new bushing down the bar without the link on it, then lube up the new bushing and slide the link over it. IDK My idea could suck so I figured I would ask first. Or; I could drill out the welds, put the link over the bushing...

1973 Roadrunner rear drum backing plate color

Simple question that I can't find a definite answer to. Was the rear drum brake backing plate on a 1973 Roadrunner natural metal, phosphate (grey or black), or painted semi-gloss black like the axle housing. I have seen all three answers given. By the rust pattern and lack of any paint residue...

Correct brake hardware kit (rear) with original color springs

1973 Roadrunner rear brake hardware kit. I know I saw them (a kit with the original color springs) and I wrote it down. Now I can't find that paper or the site where I found them. I have been looking for the last hour or so with no luck. Little help please. From now on everything gets saved...

Traction bars or no traction bars (Which one looks better)

"Great looking RR  Which one is yours?" Neither, these are just stock photos for illustration of "the look". Same color, but mine is just coming out of paint. Will start putting it back together this week I hope. I happened across the original bars while looking for parts and that...

Traction bars or no traction bars (Which one looks better)

1973 Roadrunner with peg leg for a rear end. Original owner had a set of yellow traction bars on it. I know they really don't do much with a mopar rear setup but I am thinking about looks only. Thought they always looked kinda cool. What do you think? Or this

    Red Brake Drum Paint

Here is an answer to your question from Mopar Muscle magazine off an old For Road Runner Only forum Note the red paint on the face of this rear brake drum. LCA strut bushing retaining washer orientation

I have heard of this before on other pieces of equipment and it was explained as such: Washers effect the performance of the bushing and are commonly seen in two different styles. Cupped washers will provide high rebound, more resistance, and hold the bushing's shape. Flat washers (or backward...
