I was thinking the same thing when i started to think about the wiring for a dual purpose unit. I think they must of used led light strip for each light, signal and driving .
With my setup I belive you can only have one or the other. But someone may know a work around? .
Here are pictures comparing an LED bulb and incendescent light .
The incendescent is definitely my choice for this situation . The led is more white and the light is more central compared to the regular style bulb
I think the easiest way would be to just tap into the existing wiring. Another member of a face book group posted his own version using led light strip ( don't know any real details of the his mod) but he did say he wired them into the turn signals as well as running lights.
Thought that was...
Recently had someone reach out to me after seeing the hood signals that I made with my 3d printer.
1969 chargers do not have illuminated side markers like 68 , 70 ext. The client came to me with brain stormed idea of how to make an adaptor for the original lens .
After discussion back for...
Finally got the rpm switch. Here is a video of a quick test run. Wiring is temporary, just making sure everything works. Permanent install will be with a 3d printed bracket to attach to underside of the dash !
Finished... very happy with it except the lens.
It's was crystal clear , I put layer of super glue around the edge where the lens was made to sit in. The glue reacted with the fresh clear on the inside and made it frosted in some areas and just made it look a bit sloppy. A piss off because I...
I have been wanting to get a shift light of some sort to help me keep my eyes on the track and not the dash when at the drag strip. Plus always wondered how accurate the 50+ tic - toc - tac actually is. I never wanted one of those monster tachs with the giant shift lights . I had seen a pretty...
I had a hard time understanding all this international money exchange crap when I started selling my 3D printing stuff. Did some research , ended up with Paypal. It is hassle free , and pretty safe and quick, but you pay for it with their fees. . I just adjust my price with the fees in mind...
Well a little bit of research and some problem solving and this is my solution to the ground problem since my housing is Made of plastic.
I got some Ba9s sockets. I had some ring terminals that fit the diameter of the socket almost perfect. Test fitted with the bulbs I purchased . I then...
The hood was good enough for the ground before and with better method of making the ground I'm sure it will be fine. Plus will make for a nice easy install
Your right. I realized this as I was test fitting the light bulb socket . Which is where the connection is made. So all I need to do is add a small ground lead to the bulb socket. The ground lead will be connected inner hood support cut out for the lights . I will post some pics as soon I have...
My 68 charger hasn't had hood signals operational for a while. Only because I had broken the ear off one of the housings so there was no way for mount one side.
I recently got interested in 3d modeling. I thought hey I could probably make my own housing . So a little time on the computer...
