Look at the shape .....
The edelbrock has a venturi effect. The tube is larger then tapers down to smaller before discharge. Can't tell what the demon does.
Regardles of intake , torker , Victor , rpm ect I can't see it causing your full out bog/ stumble .
It's in the fuel delivery I...
I really don't think it's an intake problem. You said the car idles and revs fine. But all other driving conditions are fine? What about rolling into the throttle to WOT? From a stand still and rolling does it do the same thing when stable the throttle? I may have missed it but did u check...
Like dadsbee said. Its more than likely a linkage adjustment problem . I don't know much about the column cars but the console cars have an adjusting rod that runs from bottom of the shifter up to the gear shift leaver on the transmission. Hardest part is getting the car up i the air... after...
If your goal is 425-450 HP at the crank that's is really not difficult with 440. If that is rear wheel HP you want thebyour looking at a bit more work.
I would put my current setup in the 425HP range. ( never had it on a dyno)
440 block - .030 over ( 446)
Stock 906 heads - valve job and...
I just read over another post by @HawkRod ... explaining a very similar issue. His turned out to be driveline angle problem.
He explained how he had similar driveline angles as me ... but was able fix his vibration with getting the angle of the diff DOWN so that under load it comes up to...
Ahhhh ok.... hmm never done that before either! The transmission was just rebuilt maybe 3000km ago . I know that means nothing
I can just check for movement of the slip yoke ? Leave driveshaft in place?
I'm guessing you mean the transmission mount? I know there are two style, I think your talking about the style that a bolt threw it . Mine is the style that's just a large vulcanized rubber mount with single stud out the bottom. Which Is brand new. I changed it with no difference ?
The car seems to have developed an odd vibration / drone this year. It's not matched to tire rotatio or engine rpm. Its an odd, dull oscillation sound, with slight vibration. It's not aggressive at all but i can notice it ..it's honestly hard to describe in text. I would
Describe it as...
I just ordered a new transmission mount for my 727 , in my 68 charger.
I haven't pulled the old one out yet, but looking at the new one I don't know if i remember a T- slot in the old one ( I just had the transmission down last year.)
Maybe it is there, if so what is it for ?
On my 68 , under the car there is a rod that comes off the shifter and connects to the gear selection leaver on the transmission. Its sort of a slip joint? Held in place with a large set screw. My guess is that it slipped a bit, throwing it out of wack, I had the exact same thing happen.
thanks for the info guys. I will have to crawl under it and find out which ones I have. Its been to long since I put them in ( 6 years now ) Although they probably only have 3000 km on them my understanding is the the weakness is from the center being hollowed out for the grease passages. A...
I'm finding myself taking my 68 charger to the track more and more.
My best time currently is 12.58 and running slicks. The u-joints I currently have in the car have grease fitting in them. I have heard that a few people say this is a weak link in the drive train if you are racing the car...
sounds like your making progress.
450 - 500 is to low. Going to need to bump that up a bit. You want at least 750 in gear or a bit more if the motor needs it. In earlier post you were questioning if the problem could be transmission related? Is it a hard shift into drive at all? Does the car...
You said the car is idling around 1000- 1500. That is a pretty big jump. Does it not idle smoothly even in neutral ?
As others have explained , set your timing then hook up a vacuum gauge to manifold vacuum port. Aim for 800-900 rpm. Adjust the idle mixture screws for your max vac.
How new...
