This is one of those situations that can really open " a box of worms" . I think most electric fans will move more air than an HD fan ......... AT IDLE. Mechanical fans move A TON of air no doubt about it, but they need that engine RPM to get them moving. MOST over heating problem are at idle...
I think a google search on that subject would give you more accurate info. You can probably find wind tunnel or other lab tested results. My bet is more blades , more air.
I don't get why people running a 195* stat are confused when their car runs in the low 200s
195 is when the stat STARTs to open. If it stays at 215 I would say things are pretty normal for those conditions . If your looking to lower things, why not put in 180*
I think most will agree any...

I'm going to switch to electric fans on my 440.
I want to turn the fans on with a simple thermo switch/ sensor . Most of the ones I see are 185 on 175 off or 210 on 185 off.
With the 185 on, that's fine, but then it would never shut off if I am running a 180 thermostat correct ? The...
Think you might be surprised when you try the inferred thermometer . I chased a problem very similar to your . My gauge all of a sudden would tell me it's running at 220 all the time . But I take a IR gun point it right at the housing and it was bang on 180 , got up to 190 once when I checking...
