Ported vs manifold vacuum advance solved!!!

It’s all about burn time, advancing the timing starts the flame front sooner so it’s hitting the piston coming up to tdc, more of a push, like spring resistance. The expanding pressure wave meets the piston head on, creating more pressure, the wave doesn’t chase the piston down the cylinder

Ported vs manifold vacuum advance solved!!!

And why would it be leaner at low speed compared to high speed? Once out of the idle circuits it’s drawing from the main circuits. Now I can see a richer mixture when the vacuum drops by pressing the pedal fast then the rods move out to allow more fuel but RPMs don’t necessarily make it richer.?

Ported vs manifold vacuum advance solved!!!

“If the ported vacuum advance helped mileage, it did so by using LESS fuel, right“ I don’t think so, just helped burn better. Very crude then, dump the fuel in. computer managed now, more efficient.

I didn’t read all these post but I hope you people understand what a VACUMN advance does. It’s like that carb accelerator pump, gives the engine a boost to get moving. It’s there to help before the centrifugal advance part of the dist. starts moving. Furthermore I’ll go with what Chrysler...

Factory style Mopar Battery, keep it or have it taken away?

I would take it from you and gut it then put a regular battery inside. The type I need for my 66. You cut it up and I’ll buy it, lighter to ship then and less toxic.
