No radio. Ill check all the connections and grounds to the front lighting when I get home today and hit the grounds with some sand paper. Where should I look for shorts in the instrument cluster circuit?
Hello everybody,
I finally got my magnum motor in my cordoba last weekend. Ive been taking it out this week and it runs great... during the daytime. This morning I used the headlights for the first time and the turn signal indicators on the dash both come on with the head lights. They still work...
Well.. Just had it bench tested at orileys. I give him the make/model .kid there says it failed its running at 27 volts. He tells me the regulator is bad. I tell him its externally regulated so 27v would be unregulated voltage wouldnt that mean its working. I thought unregulated it might run at...
I was under the impression that a single field alt is grounded internally. Even ran a wire from the mounting stud to the ground cable because i painted the alt brackets that i made. Trying to wire a 60's alternator and i I feel like a monkey trying to work a computer.
Well i assumed it was wiring because i pulled and tore down the motor, then rewired everything from the firewall on. By full field test im guessing you mean giving the field an unregulated 12v. Just tried that still wont charge could the alt have just stopped working from sitting a few months?
Not concerned with originality i have the three pin vr i can use with a later model dual field alt. Battery to block/block to firewall groundstraps are relatively new and grounded nicely. Vr is grounded well even ran an additional 12 ga wire from vr ground to negative on battery to diagnose...
Having charging issues with my single field setup. I used to have to run a ground wire from the voltage regulator to the ( - )on the batt just to get it to ground now it wont charge at all. My question is, what is the most basic way i can wire the charging system not including the ammeter. I...
Rockauto used to have mopar ones but now they say out of stock. There is a few options but i would take a half rusted cast iron one over aftermarket any day.
Woah i just skimmed over this. Didnt look at your pics. This is the style i was talking about. That is funky as hell. Ive never seen a bracket for the ac version, maybe they just didnt use one or it was bolted to something else. Those straight ones are plentiful though.
This is how ive always preferred to do it. The doba is a pain though, i put in a 360-3 from a motorhome. The thing wont ping no matter how much timing i give it even on the splendid 87 octane CA gas.
I fully support this. I love doing this kind of **** and showing my buddy (a ford guy) to watch the look of utter disdain he gives me. One of my last projects i was deleting the a.c. on a B motor and refused to pay $60 plus for the non ac brackets. I found an old rusted piece of metal, cut/sand...
I support this. I personally have always run 70's style electronic ignition. Ive converted 60's points up to it and 80's lean burn down to it, with no problems. However i like the idea of having less electrical in my engine bay. Also ive had too many chinese pick up coils with the adjustment...
