I wonder if this may not have an "Official rule?" Sometimes that "Official rule" (I believe) is made up by the blue blood restoration crowd. When in fact? The manufacturer really didn't care back in the day. Or a change was made due to discovery on the line to save a penny or two per unit?
My GTX. Ring stops like that of 1st RR pic. This is the only pic I have on my phone. But left side shows in does not pass thru.
That did it! I'm calling Chrysler! Demanding a recall!!!
But for the record? The GTX is a better build quality than the A or E. But doesn't matter. Still have to play the hand that's dealt.
I was close to buying a '65 Fury III? Just for the premise of adding a "C" body. It had a performance 383. And of course kept the Plymouth theme. It would have...

If you are thinking of adding any race belts? It's really your only choice. More options than stock bench. I have a split bench in my GTX. I like it. But if I was planning a performance upgrade? With possible track time? It would have to go.
I do know 69 did have shoulder belts. (At least the 3 I have owned.) My 68 satellite did not. Nor my 66 GTO. But 68 Camero did. So this law had to come into effect during 68 production. Like mandatory head rests. My current 69 GTX does not. Nor did my 69 RR. But my first 69 GTX? Did have. I...
