Do some networking with other local car people and car clubs. Ask them who did theirs. In Western Iowa , the Eastern Nebraska Western Iowa Car Council puts out a booklet that tells all the car events in the area and has ads from many car services including upholsterers.....Did you check the...
I'm not sure. It was from a later 70's early 80's Dodge diplomat or dynasty? I think those bases are probably all the same for the 6 way. The controls were mounted in the door, but he moved that to beside the seat near the floor. No cutting or welding, but had to drill some holes. It works...
my upholstery guy went to a U pull it yard and got a base from a newer mopar . Paid very little for it. And bolted my stock seat to it...works great.............MO
Unless things have changed in the past 2-3 years, no one offers a kit or direct install for that Joe has a roll of the run that you have to install ( glue)as per his directions ( not hard) and then trim off the edges ( it is too wide).................MO
I used hush mat on the inside of my outer door panels to reduce road noise and tinny sound when shutting the doors. All weatherstrip replaced and anything that could rattle is fixed. Hush mat is sticky enough, no water or air is going to get inside of it. Just make sure what it is stuck to...
My 68 Sport Satellite had a buddy seat, but I think someone cobbled it to mount it. Drilled holes in the driveshaft tunnel and put bolts up through and into the seat. No brackets. It was loose. I got the correct brackets, had the seat re-padded and upholstered to match my seats I really like...
I use " Boom Matt" on two cars now. I think it is the same as " Fat Matt" and "Dyna mat" First, figure out how many square foot you need. Go to E bay and compare the different sizes and how much it cost per square foot. I picked a box of 1' X 2' ( rounded off to nearest inches" in the...
Well, figuring out which holes take the rubber plugs , and which ones take the plastic was easy. The plugs are sized so that only the rubber ones will fit in the correct holes...................................MO
I used the reproduction ones from Brewers because I wanted it to look factory. Mighty pricey. I was really disappointed in the thin and bad " chrome" of the boot hold down ring ......................MO
That will help a lot. Bit of a puzzle as to which ones are rubber and the areas of the close up pics, but I will figure it out.
Still wondering why some are rubber?............................MO
I painted my floor and took out all the body plugs. I never kept track of them , but noticed most are plastic, but some are rubber. I got my new plugs and some are rubber too. . why were some rubber from the factory, and does anyone know where they go? Thanks for any...
Today I ordered new carpet from Stock Interiors . com They have a very good web site with a lot of information. So much you have to read carefully . My impression was that they might be better than ACC. I got the MASS backing. Didn't know that ACC also offered that. They probably all come from...
Several years ago we put pre sewn upholstery on my son's bucket seats. The vinyl was thin and the seams started ripping in the seat bottoms. Don't remember who actually manufactured them. Any one have that trouble with theirs? who made them? ..................................MO
What is your opinion of PUI seat covers. How do they compare to Legendary? 1968 Plymouth GTX- Sport Satellite....Thanks for your input.......................MO
Maybe your speedo drive was not clockde quite right. On mine, I had it engage the teeth but had to much clearance between the teeth= to much play. I never tried it that way, but I would think that could cause needle jumping...........................MO
Believe me and all the other guys that have said so--your speedometer head is bad. If you leave the speedo cable hooked up, you will screw something else up. See if you can turn the ferrel that the speedo cable fits into on the back of the speedo by hand . If it is hard to turn, and needle...
Use a high powered shop vac. with the narrower attachment . Stuff rags down in the rockers from the inside to limit the area you are drawing air from. I took heavy wire and bent a curve in it , so I could loosen up the glass wedged in the bottom where you can't see it...
