I have a '70's 440 in my 1964 Dodge Polara, built in Canada. I dressed my 440 up with chrome valve covers and air cleaner that were on the optional 426 Street Wedge (but not in Canada). I ground all the Edelbrock identifiers off the aluminum intake and painted everything red, as all engines...
I know I am swimming against the current here, but I have always preferred the "loop" front bumper of the 1970. It just looked cleaner than the frail looking '68-'69 front bumper. The "loop" bumper on the 1970 Coronet did not turn out as well, in my estimation.
That kind of $$$ would buy a real nice driver '66-'67 B-body. Too bad you are stuck on a '68 Charger, as they are so expensive. I like the looks of them, but they are waaaay overpriced! As soon as you pay $35,000 for a roached roller, you are going to be upside down in this project, especially...
I just picked up a can at Canadian Tire. $26.00. One of two on the shelf. Then, I stopped at a friend's and told him if he ever needed any of this paint, he better get some soon. He started picking through his paint cupboard to see what he had. I noticed he had a carton of 6 spray cans of Mopar...
Thanks for the tip, Amazon does not show it as being available. My local Canadian Tire stores only show 2 or 3 cans per store. Some with none. I guess I should pick up a couple. About $25.00 a can around here.
Wonderful story and wonderful car! That bronze colour with tan top and interior is outstanding! Too bad that a Mopar has left Canada, though. LOL. Enjoy.
Same color as the 1969 Superbee I bought new. The 1966-1967 color is called Daffodil Yellow and is a little bit paler. My '67 R/T is this color, and is close to GM Butternut Yellow. Sunfire almost looks like it has a little green in it by comparison. Beautiful job, by the way. You should be proud.
I used a '80's cop Diplomat rear sway bar set-up in a 1967 Coronet wagon. I had to widen the frame mounting brackets to make it work. I prefer the frame mounted rear bar to the one that mounts on rear end. Years later, I bought a rear bar kit from Just Suspension, for my 1967 R/T and it was...
Years ago, I bought a 1964 Polara 4-door hardtop parts car because it had green tinted glass and factory air conditioning. It had the Airtemp sticker on the lower right (curb) side of rear window. Classic Industries sell both the early and late style Airtemp decal. Tip: The decal carrier backing...
Wait and find a better car. In the long run it will be $$$ cheaper. '66 and '67 B-bodies are more affordable. I think "The Dukes of Hazzard" drove the Charger prices up initially, and they just kept going.
