They are held on car with a special clip that is no longer available. These should NEVER be removed from the car because the clips pretty well always break.
These usually came on station wagons. I went to the 1986 Mopar Nationals with my 1967 Coronet 440 3-seat wagon, which had this mirror. I had a lot of people ask me about this mirror, since no one had reproduced it yet.
The sedan ones are different, with a little cut out for the window frames. The clips for those almost always get destroyed when removing the trim and are impossible to find. I am working on a 4-door Polara hardtop myself.

Yes, there are 3 different tail light bezels for 1964 Dodges. Polara's and Canadian 440's take 6 of the flat ones. Others take 2 flat ones, one with a left curve, and one with a right curve. I can dig out the part numbers tomorrow if any one needs them. 3 different part numbers.
Five or six years ago, I was asked to inspect a 1966 Belvedere II with a Hemi in it to verify that it was an actual 426 car. This turned out to be a real deal Hemi car, with a December 1965 build date. It had the HP2 signs on the front fenders. I was surprised to find that all of the long trim...
That is the number for the bezels with flat mounting surface. This would be used on Polara and Polara 500, as well as inboard position on 330 and 440 models.
There is a left hand bezel #2424 227. If you look at mounting surface, it is not flat but has a curve to the left. This mounts directly to sheet metal tail panel on 330 and 440 models. This panel has a matching curve on the body. There is also a right hand bezel #2424 226, for the same reason...
I imagine that California is a lot like Ontario with a lot of environmental laws concerning all the caustic materials used in the chroming process. Now that most cars do not have chrome bumpers, many shops that did this work have gone out of business. The few remaining can pretty well charge...
