I agree. My new 1969 SuperBee came with F70x14 tires. So 215-70R14 would be closest size replacement. I think the 1967 Charger originally had 7.75x14 tires, same as my '67 R/T.
Yes, otherwise the 727 might not drop back to LOW after stops, and will pull away in 2nd. If the kickdown lever does not come back fully to rest, the governor circuit will hold pressure, not allowing the shift back to LOW. The other secret to get a Lokar cable to work correctly is to make sure...
I think the windshield gasket was designed to leak. If the windshield has ever been replaced, this is likely to be where water is coming in. I had the front glass out of my '67 R/T, and found a couple of little rust throughs that I had to fix in the trough that gasket sits in.
Make sure you use all the guts from your '66 trans in the BB case. The spline count changed on the input shaft in 1967. Using the '66 input shaft will let you keep same torque converter. The longer tailshaft housing will bolt into BB case. You should likely upgrade the 3-clutch drums to 4-clutch...
Hi Dave;
I don't think your tach sender will be under your console. The other '66 B-bodies would have it there, because tach was on the console. Your console mounted the clock. I believe the sender would be under your dash, somewhere near your dash mounted tach.

Usually these mechanisms are specific to the car, because of room available and attachment points. I converted my 1967 R/T from manual to power windows, and these were different mechanisms. As someone has already said, it could be a broken roller, or possibly a retaining clip has broken allowing...
Early and late Chargers also had different front sway bar styles (this is likely true of other B-bodies). Early style bar clamped to front strut rods, like '64-'65. Later style attached to LCA, like '67 and up.
Maybe aerial was dealer installed? I bought a new 1969 Super Bee that did not have a radio (thus the front fender was not punched for an aerial). I paid the radio option price, and the dealership installed the radio and mounted my preferred rear deck aerial. I also paid the option price for the...
There is an aftermarket Borgeson box available that takes up less room. Also, the '66 and earlier boxes have the large return line nipple, while '67 and later have a small diameter line. These nipple housings are interchangeable, but steering centring may have to be adjusted. I have used a later...
So that is where all the Chargers went! LOL There is a weird '66 Charger up here in London that comes to the occasional cruise night. It has the standard 318 Poly and 3-on-the-tree. Its full length console has a decorative plate on the area where the shifter would normally have been. I once...
If I was a lot younger, and a few $$$ richer, I would be interested. As others have said, this is a very uncommon Charger. I notice that it has the early "recall" spoke steering wheel (Dec. 3, 1966 build date). I have seen a few on Coronets and Belvederes, but this is the first I have seen on a...
Now that '68-'70 B-bodies are going for astronomical $$$ (Charger especially), these are going to be the next best thing. Just as our '66-'67 Coronets and Belvederes are climbing in value.
I have always thought that any Chrysler 4-speed car is a treasure since there were proportionately less of them built versus GM or Ford because of Chrysler's superior Torqueflight.
I think estimation of $2000 is way too low. The car appears to be fairly complete. If the interior parts are all there ,and tail lights complete, that would be a plus. As long as the car is not a coastal salt air mess, I would think $6-8000. would be right. Seized motor is no big deal; would be...
The dash frame itself is different because of the different style of Charger gauges versus Coronet. The lower edge of the cluster hole is scallopped for the Charger gauges, and straight for the Coronet ones. Plus, the dash frame is different between 1966 and 1967. The steering column cutout is...
That crimp-on splice is not factory, but there should be another yellow wire to the other side door switch. There also could have been an under dash courtesy light, which might have been part of an option package.
