Where do I grab power for the electric fuel pump?

My electric fuel pump was loud also. I solved it somewhat with using old computer mouse pad material as an isolator/insulator. It cut the noise by more than half. I created a separate circuit for it from the fuse block ( fused) and used an inertia switch . 10 gauge wire.

Ground Connection ... but for What?

It may well be that factory used the same harness set up for all of those particular cars to handle all available options for them. Your car doesn’t have the option that goes to so in your case it’s for nothing…..unused just one possible scenario

    Circuit board testing

This is good advice. When you check continuity, put the tester probe at the top of the pins as the solder may be broken at the base of the pin , causing intermittent continuity. If it’s broken , simply re-solder.
