I wasnt too far off then - was thinking a grand. 66 Satellite, 373 and sure grip, I would do entire set up from the yoke to the axle studs including drum brakes.
Me too....but its looking like I will just go with a new Strange of Moser. I dont need it numbers matching, I just want to grenade the 8.75 while its still worth something. How much I have no idea what a 8.75 with 373s and posi unit is going for.
they just give up so much cubic inches for a heavy motor - I had a 12.5:1 383 with .590 MP purple shaft cam. Broke a rod, took the cam out, and heads off and put on a pump gas 440 and the 440 was faster with 8.0:1 compression. This was in a drag set up and MPG wasnt a concern :)
to the OP I...
Uggh.... my rear quarter windows are acting up. I refuse to let anyone roll them down just so I dont have to deal with this :(
good luck - and when ya get it mastered let us know,
Big Bill I stole your pic -
I am looking for some new knobs for my 66 satellite. I am missing one, the others don't look great, and am missing one from my radio as well. The few that are still on keep falling off (some are cracked on the back side, or just wore out) they fall off randomly...
Dang.... didn't think about longer studs. I know mine have been changed. They seem plenty long. But will have to see how thick these new ones are.
Yeah absolutely. I've had both in the past - just slipped my mind.
I think I'll be OK. The studs were all changed ti RH thread and "shouldn't...
well - I made a choice....got them on their way.
Went a little different, but same type of style - these just had a slightly different look than some of the others. Everything I hear says the "gun metal" is a little shinier than others - so I am hoping thats the case.
Everything in my brain tells me I am correct - but I am ordering wheels this morning and down to a couple pair and need to verify.
Current wheels on my 66 are 15x7 with 4 inch BS.
Front wheels have lots of room and thats not an issue, as we are aware the back wheels are a bit tighter in these...
I am still going back and forth with this - I am so undecided, and without a decent hot rod shop in the area to look at some in person its hard to tell.
What is the difference between Tork Thrust II and D's? I have scoured the web and of course there is misleading info and contradicting info...
When the original radio has been programmed for FM
edit - yes the gauges are actually square, but this pic makes them look like my 8 year old niece installed them
OK - lets get this out of the way - yeah I need to lose weight. Eh...is what it is.
But I am also 6'2
Looking for options to create a little more leg room, and get off the wheel some.
Non tilt wheel.
I really would like to keep the stock wheel set up, its in great shape and looks nice...
