I have the top and pad, but...will the pad fit? I think my original 63 did not have a pad, and my current 63 Fury vert does not have a pad, but the top was installed by an amateur. Help please!
Any info out there on proper code paint for the RWB front and rear emblems on my 63 SF ? Curiously, the original, 60y old front, round emblem paint is intact, but the rear, horizontal has badly worn colors! I can go to a hobby shop and match, but, I'd rather go original, if info is available...
Here in the Peoples Republic, Portland OR shops want $22-2400 to replace the top on my 63 SF vert. . No extra work; the mechanism is perfect. So... I think i shall try myself. Maybe with a semi-pro helper. Advice please!
PS: Did all 63s use the stapling trim strips? The previous owner didn't...
In reviewing this forum, I see Kee, Electron Top, YearOne, and Legendary. I have an offer from SMS auto fabrics for $695 custom bronze color for my 63 Fury vert. Anyone have advice? Thanks!
I repaired mine by replacing one leaking hydraulic ram, and filled it, and reinstalled the fill plug. Works fine, tho you can see some bubbles in the lines.
Yes I think there is a vertical cardboard panel. Why converter what comes out of the paint shop in one month, and I can’t see more than one I install my cardboard liners
Thanks! Is your cardboard panel pushed fully against the side of the trunk outer wall? I can't figure out the configuration, but seeing your photo, I think I understand better. Do the clips actually fit through the slots in the panel? Or do the clips hold it up and in by friction? Hope you have...
My car came with no trunk trim. I have bought both the cardboard trim, and rubber mat. From the attached photos, you can see they are close, but maybe not completely correct for this 63 SF convertible. So:
1. There is no cardboard panel to hide the trunk-seat space, in which the rain collector...
Thanks again. I am working the air out, and fixing air leaks with the rams disconnected. Less load on motor maybe. The left ram yoke is actually outside the rod; i will need to bend or push it 1" in to connect. I plan to partly raise the top and see if the alignment is better. Cheers Ron.
Beautiful!! Mine is original, i have only re-painted the floor, etc. My hoses are clear plastic, which makes it easier to see the inevitable air leaks. The photo is "before", it looks much better now. My next step may be: raise top part way, and see if the extended ram aligns better. Thanks...
Thanks! Mine looks exactly the same now, except for clear plastic lines, filled with red auto trans fluid. The problem is at the lower right of your photo: The cylinder is held by a pin in the U shaped floor mount. The yoke end of the rod is mis-aligned with the rod over which it fits, held in...
My 63 SF vert came with an inop system, disconnected. The top is usable, and can be hand raised and locked. I have 2 good actuators, but the left side actuator is not in line with the mating lever on the frame. The right aligns perfectly. The bottom connecting mounts seem welded to the floor...
