I watched a few of the Driver Interviews with Bobby Fazio videos he posts on YouTube from the staging lanes and pits at NHRA National events and was surprised by the RPM's some of these guys are turning with their B & RB Mopar wedges. Anywhere from 7800 to 8400 rpm through the traps. As far as...
I'm geographically probably the luckiest guy here, I live 6 miles from a large track that the community supports here in Minnesota. Up until a few years ago I was still driving my car to the track with open headers on Wednesday night racing.
I have a big Howards solid flat tappet cam in my 512 in my 66, I also have a 500 with a Howards solid roller. As mentioned above, break the motor in on single valve springs and before break in do all your homework to get the motor to fire up as soon as possible on first start up.
Been following on Instagram, Love the color. Let me know when you come up to Brainerd. The Wednesday night test and tune racing is fun and never too crowded.
I spoke with Hughes Engines yesterday and the Indy low deck, MW, 4500 carb base intake manifold has not been in stock since early last winter and they show no future shipping date. Not a lot of good options for manifolds.

Thanks for posting all your car info, Helps a lot. Motor set up is pretty similar to mine. Where did you buy the fiberglass bumpers? Thought about replacing my front with a glass one.
Thanks for the info, Sounds like a 1050 is the way to go. My car sees limited street use and I live in a small town with little traffic except on summer weekends. Thanks again to everyone!
Are you going to add a roll bar or cage at some point? Sounds like you're close to the ET and speed where the track tech guys might say you need one. If you already have a cage I couldn't see it from your photos. The car will look great with the bigger tires in the back.
Looks like the middle of December in the Brainerd Lakes, 6 to 8 inches forecasted for Thursday. I need at least 2 more weeks of normal Fall weather before the snow is here permanently.
Thank you, Forgot to mention I have new front hubs, cross drilled rotors and bearings I have yet to install on this car. Also replacing the proportioning valve with aftermarket one that I can adjust rear brakes.
