Exhaust Manifold ceramic coating-Damage to heat riser spring

As the heatriser has been tack welded open, it makes no difference if the spring is damaged. It is no longer doing anything.

HP Exhaust Manifold Heat Riser.....to REMOVE it or just Leave it in? Any better flow benefits?

Why take it out they are easy enough to get unstuck. Ofcourse you will need the heat spring and the anti rattle spring to make it operational.

    1967 Coronet R/T exhaust.

Where is the exhaust going to come in at? If all your body plugs are in place, I don't see it happening. Those tailpipes were used on multiple Dodge and Plymouth models in 66-67, without issue.

    Refinish exhaust manifolds

I use POR 15 cast blast after bead blasting. When put back on the car and brought to operating temperature, they cure and look just like original cast iron. My Superbird has been done for over 20 years and they still look like the day it was finished.

Whats the best high temp paint for HP exhaust Manifolds?

POR 15 Cast Grey. It cures when engine comes to operating temperature. I usually do two coats to make sure I haven't missed anything. I have a 20 plus year old restoration that looks as good as when applied and cured. I know the manifolds aren't very well seen, but they do show.

Manifold heat riser ....remove or repair?

Personally I would fix it. I like my cars as designed. It could be as simple as a missing or broken spring.

Hooker Super comp adjustable headers (5320-1) in 1970 b body

Hooker is probably 100% right about what is required. I, personally wouldn't cut my fender wells for any kind of headers. Buy something that fits, or buy the package deal, and sell the headers to purchase something else.

Need to buy exhaust gasket set for 426 stock exhaust header

@Dean Prevolos I have had several original factory 440 cars that when disassembled had no exhaust manifold gaskets. I put them back the same way without gaskets and had no problems. I also have an original 67 GTX 440 car that the engine has never been out or apart. The best I can tell it has no...

Need to buy exhaust gasket set for 426 stock exhaust header

I had my reproduction exhaust manifolds surfaced and installed with the correct conical washers and no gaskets as original. We will see how that goes when it's fired up again. I hope it works as well as my Superbird and a couple of others.

    Thrush Glasspacks

I ran the same Thrush mufflers in the late 60's on my 67 383 Satellite but with the TA style exit in front of the rear tires. Seems like I got pulled over every time I revved the engine. Changing them back to rear exit helped but they were still loud.

    X or H pipe?

H pipe for me. I think it is about balance and tone and to me the H pipe allows you to hear each engine bank, while still having some balance. The X pipe makes for a smoother flow, but that loses some tone and the V8 rumble.

Oh boy, now I have a down pipe issue.....

Any competent muffler shop can make proper down pipes to go with the rest of the exhaust system.

    HP manifold gaskets

I just bought 10 NOS head pipe gaskets from @rbkt65 because they better than anything you can find in a parts store.

    HP manifold gaskets

Feedback I'm getting says the Hemi didn't use them either. They were attached to the heads with bolts and the conical washers as some small blocks used. I'm having my Hemi exhaust manifolds surfaced at present and going to not use gaskets. Also my 440 67 GTX survivor has no gaskets and has never...

413 max wedge cast iron headers

A B block will sit a little lower and that may help in clearance issues. Like you said they are desirable and I would snag them if they are reasonable.
