Id say no. The heat of a motor will draw oil in and short the windings. If you can find a way to apply ONE drop to each bushing at each end of the shaft, you might solve your problem.
Previous owners can be a funny bunch!! I bought a '67 Belvy once in the dead of winter.... It ran and drove, so I attempted to drive it home. I found out that the brake lights were a momentary switch on the dash that you had to push when braking.... I also found out that the drivers door...
Ac systems dont really hold much refrigerant to begin with. If you ever heard a "hiss" the charge would be gone in 5 minutes and no test would ever pass. You found a leak with the dye.... I'd go right back there for an answer. What did the o-ring look like? You should have studied it with a...
There's has been a lot of discussion on it in the past...... need to lay my hands on the link..... or maybe you could do some searches here and possibly FABO or more likely FCBO for the big blocks (inc Hemi).
IIRC, the issue was there are more different style impellers than you would think...
This is the double edged sword of refrigerants.... lower suction pressure means lower evap temps and more condensation (which is good, till it freezes). But you have to have enought in there to fill the evap.
To the other direction, higher suction pressures mean higher evap temps, but go too...
Sounds good, but bear in mind that you cant compare apples to apples without knowing the ambient and weather when he took the pressure. You two could both be spot on, but comparing Florida to Canadia. Or Alabama in the winter, etc. Of course, RPM at measument does too.....and units need at...
I'm not sure about Mopars specific parts, but you may get away with using the R12 expansion (new or existing). Then charge your R134 to 90 percent of the factory R12 spec'd charge. This assumes that almost all of the factory components are intact, compressor, evap and condenser. Should be...
The dryer, on anything refrigeration-wise, should be replaced anytime it has been exposed to open air for a period of time, or anytime there has been a failure in the refrigeration system and it needs to be opened up and worked on. The new one will then filter out and retain any contaminants...
Well, for starters, you should have (or do need ) a factory service manual for your car. Never put more refrigerant in your system than the manual calls for, or the compressor will be junk in a hurry. Do you have any idea why it quit working, or when?? Don't automatically assume it's just...
The oil gets whipped into a bit of a froth in any system.... that's why you would need to flush, as opposed to just drain somehow (no provision for that for same reason).
The flush systems we use in buildings today seem to be Acetone. They won't call it plain Acetone because you wouldn't give them $60 a can for it... but that's all I'm using now... works fine. Obviously if you use it in a vehicle system I'd make sure you replace all orings immediately...
This may sound a little off-topic and a bit of a rant, but my understanding from Day One; conversion to R134a from R12 was that the metering was quite similar.... The big thing (in cars) was two things, one was the incompatibility of oils, and the other was the permeability of hoses. In...
I personally am not sure what Mopar did, but they should be leak free with no seals, as long as we are talking about metal caps, and everything is in good shape like new.
R-22 is way worse, now manufacture is banned countrywide. The wholesalers stockpiled it for a very long time. Why should you be any different?? One hobbyist is NOT going to destroy the planet. I saw a website saying even in Washington, the stores have failed to pull it from the shelves. Go...
Wasting your breath.... big block Dart owner here lol. Play on..... :steering: :carrot:
You'll get `em.... it's not impossible, and yes, if the motor mounts are broke or stressed that bad, the trans mount is likely beat too.
