I’d say it’s more about street pavement than 580hp. I’ve got approx. 650hp under my hood, and a 275/60 ET street would hook it up just fine on a prepped surface. But on the street it would likely go up in smoke with a set of 33x16 Bias Slicks.
If you’ve never stood on a prepped track, you...
I’d run ET Street SS’s on that car, 275/60’s. They’ll hook up a LOT more than what you have, but at the track with proper prep. Nothing is going to keep you stuck on the street. That’s just a reality. Air them down & heat them up and they’d be somewhat successful. But what you see guys do...
I agree, it’s gotta be -6mm offset, which would translate to 4-1/4” backspace on an 8” rim. That’s going to push the tire out toward the quarter panel lip a little more than the more common 4-3/4 backspace. But with a relatively narrow 235 tire, it will probably fit just fine.

Ive been running 15x8 with 4-1/2” bs rims with MT 28x9 ProBracket Radials. They’re substantially bigger than a 255, a little narrower than a 275. Wheel wells are 100% stock with the stock trim. They fit without rubbing, but are literally stuffed in there. Getting them in & out is a major p-i-a.
