    OIL FILTER WRENCH

I must have 10 oil filter wrenches in the tool cabinet. The best one for big block filters is the one I bought for my 68 Fury when I was 18. In 1973.

    2 post lift recommendations?

I have an Atlas asymmetrical 10,000lb. No complaints and reasonably priced. A lot of these lifts are suspiciously similar.

    Turquoise Mopar paint

My experience with the Hirsch paint wasn’t that great. Doesn’t have a great shelf life after opening, dries slowly on your parts after applying, didn’t seem very resistant to gasoline exposure. Just my experience.

    Coats 40-50 tire machine

The air muffler on the foot valve was plugged, causing it to not vent air and return quickly. Quick fix. Thanks for the manual link.

    Coats 40-50 tire machine

I put oil in the two cylinders per the manual, and it has made the return worse. I will chase the vents.

    Coats 40-50 tire machine

I just bought a Coats 40-50SA tire machine. It operates under pressure and breaks beads very well, but it returns to it's at-rest position very slowly, wether there is a tire on the machine or not. Anyone have experience with this machine or this condition?

    Daytona 3 ton jack

    I have a Hein-Werner 2 1/2 ton that's going on 50 years old. I've over-worked it most of it's life, and it's still good as new.

Air compressor in garage or out?

My shop building is 36x90. I have 36x36 portioned off and heated. The first 10 years I had a 5hp compressor on the heated side, and I didn’t like the noise. I now have a 7 1/2hp on the ingested side, and I like it much better. Been there 7 years. I have a flexible block heater attached to the...

Car trailers sturdy enough to haul a B body.

I own two trailers and move tractors around to shows here in NY. According to the DOT, if you are not engaged in commerce, the DOT tie- down rules don’t apply.

Sandblasting: What abrasives do you suggest?

I use coal slag media in my cabinet and pot blaster. I source that at a builder's supply. They normally have at least two grades, I get the finest grade they stock. Comes in 90 or 100 lb. bags, which are a pain. I keep a small bag of glass beads around for aluminum or die-cast parts that I want...

    Car LIft questions

I have an asymmetrical lift with a clear floor. I wouldn’t want the floor pan style, but they need a little less ceiling height. Probably a 9000 lb. lift is plenty. My four door Cummins 2500 4-wheel drive with 8ft. box weighs 7400lbs. with me in it. Just my opinion, of course.

    air compressor recommendation

A 7.5 hp two stage will run sandblast cabinets or pot blaster very well. 5 hp two stage won’t keep up.

Brake, Transmission, and Fuel Line Tube Tools

I suspect that unless you are driving your car here in the Northeast during the winters, the steel lines will outlast everyone old enough to read this. (And their grandchildren)
