Rear wheel back spacing 67 Belvedere II

I put 275/60/15's on 8" steel wheels, then took them off because I couldn't find a reasonable way to keep them from rubbing. Swapped the same tires to 7" wheels and picked up about 1/2" clearance both sides. Now I'm trying to figure out if I can still use the 8" wheels on the front with...

67 Belvedere II - front wheel backspace

Long story short, I bought 15×7 4"BS steel wheels for the front, and 15x8 4" BS for the rears. With 275/60's I couldn't get the 15x8's under the stock rear. I tried the 15x7's in the rear and they worked. I sold the 8" wheels, and need to buy 15x7 wheels for the front. My plan is to run...

Yeah, the BS measures 4-1/2". It looks like I can get it in there with 5-1/2". And I wish my axle was even a little more short!

Well, I pretty well screwed myself again. Measured, (or thought I did) rear wheel openings on the Belvedere II with the intent of putting 270/60-15's under there. Bought 15x8, 5x4.5, 4.5" bs steel wheels and thought I was rolling. NOPE. I was a little off with my measurement. 1/4" off? NOPE...
