That's all kosher. Hamtramck built '68 318 Charger; well into the year's production. There's simply not much more we can surmise from just the VIN. Lots of pics and we could guess at equipment/options, possibly. Highly unlikely there are any VIN marks on engine or trans, so can't verify...
Well - we're not telepathic: you're going to have to "throw us a bone" or SOME tidbit of info....
So; a 1968 Charger. If a 318, then your VIN would start XP29F8xyyyyyy. - where "x"= the code for the plant it was built at (Hamtramck (B) all year long, or St Louis (G) in the "spring" of calendar...
That one's probably a typo; "C"RG = Charger trim, not Basic trim. Other than that, I think you got it all.
@frenchie007 - you or your friend should verify if the core support and the trunk gutter stamps also match the VIN. To see if it's the original body, or if someone re-bodied it in the...
Welcome to the forum. That is a nicely equipped 69 Charger R/T. Are you looking for the reference material so you can decode the rest yourself, or more looking for just the rundown completed?
Is this a car you're hoping to buy, or a car you already have? If buying, you should look at a...
Unfortunately, it is the "503" (May 3rd) that allowed @69Coronetrt to get to such a narrow range of VINs in the exampled thread (he can comment on his methodology if he wants) - and it's the key piece of info not available for this one since there is no fender tag or broadcast sheet. The Sales...
Was eyeballing that, too. Hard to discern from the pic, but here's some info from literature to reference.
8-3/4 would have been standard with the auto trans.
If we are anywhere close, you could contact Barry at Hamtramck Historical as there are a few potential sources on file there to check. (couple clinkers, too)

He's probably a B-bodies member, but I only know his handle on A-bodies, so I can't tag him here.
Don't get your...
Vapor return line indicates 440 or 426? A/C eliminates 426.
Strictly a guess, but it seems likely. Lack of a sway bar is odd... any tabs on the Lower Control Arms?
Start checking date codes stamped into K-member and body panels to try to narrow down the vintage? Order number is little...
At least they only did the wheels and not the flag and "01" too! LOL
It looks to be a beautiful car -and I am sooooo dam jealous of you Californians/southwest and your good metal. ....ever seen a Wisconsin car?....not pretty.
Good deal. I presume you know where to look on the driver's side radiator yoke and the trunk gutter. Probably can't be peeling trunk weatherstrip to see under, so have a small mirror, or better, take flash pics from below 'til your satisfied your seeing "what" is there. '69, so should be VIN...
Couldn't really see that in your first pic. Very much an indicator of vinyl roof, or 2-tone paint - neither of which is there any reason to believe were "as-equiped" from the factory by the broadcast or fender tag. Dealer-add is certainly possible; the drip-rail molding is different between...
Really can't see your broadcast sheet well in that pic. I THINK your car was a 3.23:1 open axle from the factory. An image attached for your reference and you can look closely at your broadcast and correct what I've misread. Line-2; boxes 4 & 5 from the left. Also, the 3-digit axle code next...
In this particular case, an on-line should be able to "if-then-else" the H51 to kick out the possibility of an orange 335, but true - most can't/don't.

Pretty sure Barry Washington still admins it. Here a link to the contact page so you can start a conversation if you'd like.

These are very cool. I don't recall seeing these over at Hamtramck Historical. Possibly hi-res scans copied over to there for perpetuity - if you are of the mind to, and have a good scanner?
Thanks
Mark
Are you finding what you need? There is no "one document" that encompasses all the info that I'm aware of. You wind up having to reference multiple docs.
C6W is your interior "trim code" - the box it's in is defined "TRIM 32-34" that means it will have 3 option codes defined (32_ thru 34_)...
If you need the sender for a gauge, there's only one listed 2495222. If you need a switch for an idiot light, there are three versions and you'll have to choose per your application.
