A copy of two pages of the '68 TSB that relevant - from Hamtramck Historical

    Engine Block Decode Question...Factory Replacement???

Note - this is the engine serial number, not a VIN of any kind. This alludes to me that it was a complete engine, not just a service block/short block. Being a '68 and a 'performance' engine, there's a good possibility a partial VIN is stamped into the top of the transmission flange next to/in...

    Engine Block Decode Question...Factory Replacement???

Would you have a closer pic of the stampings - assuming you mean these characters? These are usually the engine serial number stamped on a completed engine assembly at the engine plant and contain information that would not be known for an "un-built" block? Thanks Mark

    Engine Block Decode Question...Factory Replacement???

He means the pad under the distributor. I would also think it's a poorly stamped VIN that the dealer pulled from a wreck? Possibly a Satellite RHxxH9y151029?

    What is this block from

If memory serves, "5" would be for code 395, so Auto, I think. I believe a 4 speed would have been a "3"? Not positive - all my cheat-sheets are trapped on a dead computer's hard drive:( Probably want to post a thread with the digits, and known-to-date info, in the "Lost and Found" forum? M...

Road Runner vin tag missing the "R" character? - Rare?

I presume it is, indeed, a post car? I'd check the passenger's side of the trans for a VIN stamp. Would be like the body stamps for '70 - partial... "0G257356" in your case.

Road Runner vin tag missing the "R" character? - Rare?

Original engine and/or transmission? - check the numbers there. Have you looked for a broadcast sheet? Any idea why the fender tag isn't there?

Fender tag colour different from original colour.

The Blue is deceptively dark for the model year. Pic attached from Ham. Hist. Blue and Black are right next to each other - give a look. I think OP will have to tell us if we're seeing blue or not in the pics as it is, indeed, quite difficult to differentiate.

Fender tag colour different from original colour.

Probably what @toolmanmike said - but still curious: Do the body stampings match the order number on the tag? - I believe they had those in '66. My info is rather sketchy here, but - What about the defined attributes on the tags vs what your car actually has? H4B = Blue Vinyl Bench interior...

    1969 RR/GTX/Satellite Fenders

Not sure if this is the right place, or if "Body" would be more appropriate - but: Was buying a few parts (Prop-shaft/pig/tank) from a guy today (he's got a '69 RR at his body guy now) and I noticed an "extra" set of fenders leaning against the wall, so I struck up convo about maybe buying...
