I do not specifically know about the netherlands or europe as a whole but i recently learned that 90% of germans do NOT have a net worth of 725k or more.
If you have a net worth of 725k as a german you count as the top 10%. This is basically you owning a nice paid off house in a nice...

I can't see a fender tag, no mentioning of a build sheet and theres no vin specified.
I could've bought a 69 hemi charger, repainted and with factory replacement engine but otherwise apparently nice condition...
I do not like the idea of paying 6 figures for any car but i seriously like that my charger is green and automatic.
I even wanted the buddy seat option and column shift. Guess i'm not the norm here. :)
I almost can't believe it.
Everyone's saying how times are rough but MORE THAN ENOUGH people are obviously still able to burn money like there's no tomorrow.
Doesn't matter if it's paying 40$/day for parking at miami beach, 10k for a table reservation in las vegas or 170k for something like...

I also look at sold auctions (ebay, mecum...) and current offerings.
classic.com can also...
That said i have not installed any anti theft devices and my 72 cutlass has not been stolen since i have it. (about 10 years)
The beauty of having a car that is nice but not THAT special and/or expensive.
You can enjoy without worrying too much.
This kinda happened in the vintage synthesizer market.
Instead of driving the prices down the originals now cost even more...
But some reproductions are very cheap despite sounding very close to the originals.
I feel like classic car prices are escalating in general.
One should think they would go down instead given the current situation.
But do they really sell at those prices? I guess not.
But i haven't checked auction prices since i bought my car earlier this year. :)
If you are refering to the high prices of us classics in germany/europe.
Well thats europe for ya. Im not a fan, too.
Edit:
And its not just classic cars.
I think europe (at least germany) is pretty much the california of the usa.
