I did not know that so i did a quick google search. On first glance it appears that for 1968 only the 22" shroud consists of 2 pieces. The 26" shroud is still a one piece unit, right?
If true than that's still a pro if you have a 22" but not if you have a 26" radiator.
I love the fact that...
While i'm not as far away as you it's still about an 8hr drive.
No i will be going to the general us car show in sinsheim instead (as every year):

I can't help but i might be in the same boat. My AC is currently not working and i have not looked into it yet.
I'm currently looking at 150$ shipping cost to ship a new starter for my 72 cutlass supreme to germany. That's without import tax.
You know just to get it to where i live. Not the...
Here check it out:

One more thing is i actually have an NOS 180°F mopar thermostat and this indeed looks like a Robertshaw Thermostat.
The Edelbrock IS way more restricted in flow so that's why i think that it really could be the problem under load...
Edit:
I'm just not sure i want to use a 50 year old thermostat...
Well i think i really do not have to touch the carb because its the original carb not some aftermarket edelbrock etc. so why should i mess with the factory tuning, right?
Of course ignition/timing is something i might have to look at but i want to start simple with removing the thermostat.
I...
@RJRENTON (or anyone really): Do you know which style/series Robertshaw Thermostat is right for the 440hp in my 1969 dodge charger r/t?
I know it needs to be 180°F but there are different styles/series:

Is the Robertshaw 330-180 the...
Last year (as stated in my last post) i installed an Edelbrock 8607 180°F Thermostat.
As stated in my last post "My car runs at constant ~ 180°F @ 86°F outside temperature."
Except for when i drive faster -> 80, 90mph+ Than the temperature starts climbing higher than it should.
Since its a bone...
If you want to get a new factory spec replacement there is no alternative.
He can also recore your original radiator which of course makes the most sense in your case.
My 69 charger had an older aftermarket radiator in it that needed to be replaced.
I bought a brand new one from glenray and it...
Glenray = Factory Specs.
So the connecting locations should be in the right place unless you relocate them on your engine.
My car is stock so it fit like a glove. I did not even have to massage it.

If you have the money i would not consider anything else. I installed one in my car and its great! :)
I never experienced better customer service aswell.
Well i installed one of these in my car.
Unfortunately i do not recall all the details...
I also used short bolts to bolt the fan to the clutch. (I don't recall if i used washers or not)
I then used "some" bolts, maybe the originals, maybe others to bolt the clutch to the water pump.
I also...
I would only use nos or glen ray @ restorationradiators.com
Recently installed one from glen ray. Great product and exceptional service. (When i say exceptional i mean it, especially considering todays world)
Thank you for posting this!
What i know for sure is it was the engine mounts or fan clutch.
After your story more likely the engine mounts then. But the other fan clutches all had some play. The new one from hayden currently installed does not.
My car runs at constant ~ 180°F with the new Edelbrock 8607 180°F Thermostat @ 86°F outside temperature.
I'm happy with that. :)
Thanks for the tip, i might use one of these next time.
Just keep in mind the edelbrock has more flow. You might want or not want that.
All i can say is the original mopar thermostat looks more like the edelbrock unit than the gates replacement i also bought.
