I am going through the rebuild on my 1969 Coronet steering column. I started taking it apart and two square headed screws fell out end of column when I started disassembling it....OOPS. I took a few pictures while tearing her down but wondered if anyone could reference me to an exploded view of...
I looked but cannot find where to get upper bearing for steering shaft? Checked Classic industries and the threads from this forum....anyone know part number or where I can get one for a rebuild on 69 Coronet with auto on tree ?
In a normal car I could use factory replacement pieces. Mine is so far from that , everything I do has to be custom. From the Mustang disc break system on it to how I routed the lines different from OEM. I guess I was just frustrated and venting when I started this thread, in due partly for me...
The junction box that sits on top of axle on my 69 Coronet requires a 7/16"-20TPI brake line fitting from frame going to axle to screw into junction block. When I pulled all the lines for the frame off, I didn't save connections. Standard for everyone else is 7/16"-24 TPI for a 3/16 brake...
Not to side track this thread..but it is alignment related. I ordered and replaced the strut bushings with polyurethane ones and installed on stock struts. I was reading threads/ blogs the other day which stated something like" you never get correct camber adjustment with the new polyurethane...
Thank you gentlemen! I knew the FBBO members would know exactly where they went....as usual. Think I can wait till after I put my Borgeson in to give me plenty of clearance for that install.
Does anyone have instructions for where the K member splash shields mount? I went nuts two months ago ordering all kinds of crap from Classic and found these in the pile...but no idea of how or where they mount? I checked with Classic ind. web site but found no offering of instructions. Included...
As an after thought. How do you like the Borgeson feel versus what you may have had before? I am told the Borgeson will eliminate any / most of the slop that is in most of the B body steering and am thinking of going that route myself. Any pitfalls/ hints to make the swap smoother and worth the...
I am talking the LCA pins where they go through frame. The shaft on the QA1 has about a 1/4" length of a good fit (toward rear of car) and then the diameter steps down smaller all the way to the threads. I am pretty sure there were probably some bushings provided that went with these QA1...
I know this was discussed in an old thread but wanting to get a little more info from those of you that purchased the QA1 LCA. Mine were purchase over 2 years ago for my 69 Coronet and I am just starting the assembly now. The car was totally dissembled 2 1/2 years ago and that process and the...

I also cleaned and reinforced all seams and areas needing more weld for integrity on my 69 Coronet k frame....just because when I looked it over I wasn't pleased with the lack of strength/detail. This was done over two ears ago when I was taking the car down to ground zero. I didn't realize the...
Thanks Cranky! I have to get replacement bars anyway (mine were sagging bad) and will probably step up to the 1.? PLUS the heavier shocks up front. I have both a 440 and the original 383 to choose between when I step up to building a stroker and want to be able to "adjust" for weight and ride...
Not to hi jack this thread but I have a question to the masters about bars. I am retaining the 383 n my coronet and want to put heavier bars on it to be able to lower the front end and still retain support. I was told this is a way to be able to do that, by putting heavier bars in it? Am I...
Thanks Jim for the feedback. Maybe it was just me but after I let it dry very well, my fingernail left a mark in the surface after lightly scratching across it. I put the Krylon on to "seal " it so that wouldn't keep happening with contact from my hands/finger nails. I just may be too ****!
That looks awesome! The attention to detail is impressive and you matched the colors and finishes very well. I too am working on dash/ interior components and used a tip from this forum for replicating finishes and colors. The SEM #39853 Texture Coating black works great and on top and I sprayed...
