Some great pictures of cars being restored, I got mine ready for test drives and had to jump in here! After 5 years of working on her, she finally got on the road, trying to give the Sniper some time to "learn". With 18's all around, EFI and an adapted 6 speed auto, she will be great for long...
Actually just a 440 in a color the wife picked out..... but I am making it "MyBee" after the 68, 4 speed I had in high school. Turned the 383 into a 496 stroker, have a 4L80 , 6 speed behind it with a hemi rear end, Holley sniper EFI inject tank and distributor, QA1 suspension up front , new...
Coronet 440 with a 383, .....after 27 years in AK looking for a real BEE like I had in high school, this is all I could find. Has a 496 stroker with full Sniper from tank, distributor, coil pack to injectors. Swapped out for a full posi rear end and a 6 speed 4L80, carbon fiber dash with full...
A gorgeous thread and all of them get my juices flowing. Amazing amount of love and hard work that is/has gone into bringing these icons back to better then original condition. Mine is still a work in progress but these photos really get me motivated! After 29 years in AK I am now in Denver and...
You can also take a piece of steel tubing the will fit over the long bolt, cut to length and paint to take up all that slack. Slide the tubing on before you put the nut on and you will not need near as deep a socket. The tubing also protects the threads from rocks and rusting, making it easier...
As a follow up, I am getting help from FBBO member here who has the pad I am looking for with the AC vent...but NO lower left pad. I contacted Tony's and he has a used lower left pad in black that may work if pictures show it to be good. So I now have a lead on the lower AC version pad AND lower...
I tried to look yesterday but whether I am not putting in correct language or too inept with the site, I saw no pads that had the AC vents in middle for sale.
Tony's replied that he WILL NOT be offering the AC version when he starts making the 68-69 lower dash pads. That shoots me down and I may be stuck trying to put 2 5/8" aftermarket gauges in the small slot and using the dash pads I have..... Unless someone knows a better way?
That is what I was told by most of the companies I talked to so far. Tony's said he will start reproducing them in February....or so BUT I don't know about the AC version for the Super Bee or R/T. Will check again with him.
Dang, hit the wrong button, was finished... I have searched Bing/ images and seen original 1969 Super Bees and R/T's with AC and center pads that have the vent cutouts but sure can find them in reproduced offerings. I want to put 3 3/8" gauges in and take advantage of more room with the Bee or...
I have a Coronet 440 that I would like to install custom gauges into. The dash is out , stripped and painted...ready to go. The car has AC and I want to keep the original AC vents on the sides as well as the middle of dash. The original lower left dash pads is still in excellent condition and...
Well after 1 1/2 years of stripping, boxing and prepping my 69 Coronet, we finally got some color shot on her at Thanksgiving. I have boxed the frame and made a new tunnel to fit over the 4L80 6 speed auto, then laid POR 15 on total underside and interior floor. Just got a peak at her and still...
Very nice looking seats and interior! Do the seats fall all the way forward to let someone in the back? Procar Rally 1000's...where did you get them, what vendor?
Loving your choice for a project, that was my first muscle car! Will be spying over your shoulder to watch her come back to life. Thanks for joining us with your updates.
Wow, love the picture and it brings back memories! I am another guy that had a 68 Bee with 4 speed in the B5 blue. All the pictures I ever saw of my car were lost in a fire when my parents house burned. I have nothing to remember or show my sons who have heard of the car forever. Would love it...
