Maybe, but I just as soon not do business with them. Their customer service is less than stellar, and the products have mixed reviews from the research I've done. I'll stick with known brands even if it costs a few extra bucks, Thank you though!
For a Mopar 440 and 727 transmission, when did the factory use 10" vs 11" flex plates? When purchasing a new torque converter for street performance use, what would be the advantage to one over another?
I will be removing a very nice running moderately built 340 (x heads) within the next few months, and am looking for some thoughts on how to prepare it for sale.
Thinking a good video showing it starting up and running with oil pressure, etc. A newspaper for proof of the date. Maybe...
Well that's the opportunity I'm thinking about taking advantage of right now. Looking at about 750 delivered vs. over a grand for TTI's. Just trying to justify the extra money if I won't see much of a difference. Thanks to all.
I am building a 440 for my 68 Charger. It is a 9.5-10 compression motor with:
.030 over Icon IC9953 pistons
Eagle H beam rods
Comp cam 21-224-4 hydraulic cam
Hughes lifters
440 Source heads- mildly worked (cleaned up)
Edelebrock Performer RPM with a 780 Quick fuel carb
727 with 2200 stall...
Reading the responses with great interest as I have a very similar build with headers. I haven't purchased a carb yet but looking at 780 or 850 Quick Fuel with vacuum secondaries.
Must be his son that owns this business now, because there is no one in the Branford, CT shop by that name. J.R. (the owner) or Danny are the only people I've dealt with for years, and I never got "screwed". Times change, people change.
To resurrect an older thread, is Schumacher still in business? Most of their conversion mounts show sold out. Looking for a set to install a 440 in my 68 b-body. Currently has a SB.
Yes. We used stock length ball and cup 3/8” rods with Crane adjustable rockers. All the intakes rubbed on the upstroke, so we didn’t want to take the chance. It did add more time to the build since the heads had to be pulled and re-installed.
