Windshield on my ‘55 C1B was tinted from the factory. Couldn’t get another to replace it, lucky I could get one at all. That wasn’t a high end vehicle by any stretch. (Had every option you could get on a pickup in ‘55 which still wasn’t much).
The original tinted windshields did have the dark band. It usually wasn’t quite as distinct as the replacements. Faded in a bit more and the line often wasn’t even.
Don’t go nuts getting one shipped. I just called the local glass place in June, they came out 3 days later and installed one for less than the pre-shipped cost from the various online outfits. If you were closer I’d give you a clear one.
Interestingly I had about the same experience. The shape of that pickup is awful. I did get it to work but there wasn’t a chance in hell the windage tray was going to fit, at least without a lot of butchery.

Thanks! I’m not really in it to go warp 4 but I like it similar-ish to a stock 440 magnum. Sounds like I’ll leave the original stuff on the shelf for now.
How is it? Just curious. I have a Holley 3310-1 and CH4B on mine with the factory intake and 3644 (identical to 3611 but was used on 413s) sitting on a shelf. Kinda wonder what the performance hit is like.
Shells or largely disassembled cars can be a nuisance for the buyer, mostly because the condition and presence of all the little pieces is unknown. It may look complete but be missing X,Y,Z and those will take 6 months and $1000 to buy. My opinion is that you’ll do much better selling a car in...
