Sweet car! I'm a child of the '70's/80's and agree, I graduated in '81 and drove a '70 440 6brl 4 speed Road Runner to high school that I bought in '79 for $650. That was a great time to be part of the cruising/street racing era.
It's been quite a while since I've posted anything about the GTX. I have put about 1200 miles on it and had it tuned to run pretty good with the 950 Holley on the Indy intake. It just never looked right to me with a single carb. Collected up a KB marine intake and set of chrome valve covers over...
This is our J code 1968 GTX that we pulled out of a storage unit in 2015. it had been there since 1985 with the paint stripped and a seized 440 in it. It does have the original trans and rearend. We left the outside and interior pretty much as found, but went completely through the drivetrain...
Thank you. Rick's a great guy. I have known him for a long time, very meticulous about his work. He has done some stuff for me over the years. Give me a holler when you get to Prineville and come by for a beer or a soda or glass of milk.
We have been driving the wheels off it since it was finished. Still looking for any history prior to 1979. If anybody remembers a QQ1 blue hemi car or guy named Skip that raced at Fremont, please let me know. Also looking for the long lost engine. Anyone have a hemi block stamped with a VIN...
It's your car, do what you want. My '68 GTX is a factory hemi car that had been basically abondoned for 30 years. I could have investing alot of $ and spent 5+ years restoring it. I chose to rebuild the suspension and drive train and install my 472 hemi. I drive the crap out of it HARD and have...
Thanks to everyone for their encouragement and support. The GTX will be in the January 2017 Muscle Car Review in the Rare Finds article. Here's a link for anyone who would like to read it...
The GTX is almost done (for now). Still need to get the 4.10's in the Dana and do another valve adjustment. Also still babying the engine until I get some miles on it but this thing pulls harder at 3500 than any street car that I have owned. Here are some pictures that my wife took last Sunday...
Hey Brett, car is looking good! There are two little sheetmetal tabs on the front inner side of the wheelwells that the seat frame loops fit over and then you bend the tabs over a little to hold the upper seat frame in place.
Got back from the Mopar show Sunday and have been gone for work since. Just now getting around to posting. I had the exhaust done last week with Magnaflow 5X8 straight through mufflers. I really like the sound, loud and rumbly without the Flowmaster whistle.
Loaded up and headed to the...
