Frame/body stiffening is something I would like to do to the 73. I have not found any off the shelf components for a 73 B Body.

Time slips from Duct Tape Drags

Lol, 72 Charger small block, but yes it weighed right at 4000" without driver.

Time slips from Duct Tape Drags

I did not weight this car. My 62 was on a scale it weight 3990. It was an iron headed small block. This is a big block So with me in it I estimated 4300.

The engine was originally built for a different car. It had 3.91 gears and overdrive with lockup. The cam was spec'd on the small side to be happy and cruise around on the street at 2000 rpm. This engine never went in that car.

The engine likes being at 18° base, fires right off, good throttle response. After I made the timing adjustment I went to check it with a timing light but could not see the marks in bright daylight. Got to play with that at home now.

I have a wide band. The 950 was in a ZZ502 before I got it so I thought it should be close. I had to open the primary pvcr a little and go up four jets sizes in the primary to get it to run low 12's wot. Yes, too lean can be a disaster. From here I can tune it for a bit leaner which should up...

I finished the engine 2 weeks ago. Put it in the car last week. Found a rebuilt a 950 DP 3 days before the drags. I have not done much tuning yet. Is it so bad to get a 4300# or more car with basic suspension in the 12's first time out?

Time slips from Duct Tape Drags

Thats what I am thinking. I am going to put it back to 30° total. Plugs looked good and no signs of detonation on our 91 octane pump gas.

That was the goal. Dont know how close I am. I did not launch very hard because of the thin clutch. Would my times have been better with a 3000 RPM launch, leaving the line like a cannon ball?

    Cut-outs causing super lean mixture????

Really should have the sensor in the header now. And make sure the header collector gasket is sealing.

Time slips from Duct Tape Drags

The weekend was great, except for getting rained out both days. Friday night was a complete rain out, no racing. Saturday was good till about 5 PM, then rain shut it down for the night, no racing on Sunday. I am car 30. The car; 73 Charger Rallye, 255/60-15 Cooper street tires all around, full...

The clutch held up just fine. No issues really with it. And with three runs on borrowed slicks. Car ran 12.89 @ 112 MPH

That has been working well on my street practice launching. Then slowly apply power after the clutch is fully engaged. The tires squawking all the way through first gear. It is easier on my thin clutch too. I hope. You guys should see the road coming in to my neighborhood. It has a dead end...

I have run a best of 13.1 quarter mile in a 96 Vette many years ago. This car pulls much harder than that did. I plan to use my track info to calculate hp. My vacuum gauge is sitting in the open ash tray duct taped to the dash.

It's a 73 Charger Rallye muscle rat. 4000# plus my fat a$$. It has stock front and rear sway bars. Fully restored interior, A/C P/S P/B. All Poly bushed suspension. It is a comfortable cruiser, literally daily driven with the B engine in it for the past 2 years. I recently built a 505ci Trick...

Will do. I have a at home alignment tool. 2 plates, electronic angle meter, 2 tape measures. Works very well actually.

I have the front a little low right now from Autocross racing. I will make a few passes like this. Then raise it and see if there is any noticeable difference.

Thats a fantastic fix. What gave you the idea to do that?

Would raising the front end an inch or so help transfer weight to the rear for better traction? Easy to do if it makes sense.

10 year old M&H drag radials or street tires?

I was going to put the drag radials on different wheels just for the track. Didnt want new for aging reason. They will sit on the shelf all but one or two weekends a year. A waste. But, maybe I can run some Nitto NT 555 RII, or M/T ET Street S/S on the rear all the time. How do they do on the...
