I am using a factory tach in my 73. Had to use the MSD tach adapter box. I tied the EFI and the tach adapter box both off the tach output wire of the 6AL box. No issues.
I feel for you. You are trying to tune the engine by the numbers. That wont work. Forget about the vacuum advance for now. It does not do anything for engine performance, it is an economy thing. You may think low vacuum readings is a carb problem. and it is, but, it is also a timing thing. They...
I am finding a large mix of alternator brackets were used over the years. some are designated for A/C, others are not. Does it really make a difference?
I am using the top one below. I guess it is a non A/C bracket, even though it was on the 78 motor home 440 that had a single belt A/C. I am...
The 318 in a friends 73 Plymouth started making a very odd noise. Sounded like something rubbing along with a bearing going out, both sounds at the same time. Sounded like it was coming from inside the engine. Oil pressure is normal, engine hitting on all eight cylinders. Running normally...
My 383 should be right about 9:1 with 452 Iron heads. The calculation depends on the combustion chamber volume, which from what I have read was very inconsistent. The ratio could be much lower than 9:1. I am running 35* of timing. Time will tell.
Have put about 300 miles on the rebuilt 383 now. First tank was the remainder of the 91 octane gas. Ran that out with no issues. Put 10 gallons of 87 in the tank and surprisingly there were no issues with that. Just put 10 more gallons of 87. I think the 383 is going to be happy with no high...
Where is the line? What is the determining factor? How much original sheet metal, drivetrain, interior, small parts must remain to be an original restoration? How much of the original car can be replaced before it is a fake? Lets draw a line so we all know where it is.
Scenario #1
Do a numbers...
I put the Harland Sharp rockers for Edelbrock heads on a set of Trick flow heads. They will work, but... If you want the geometry correct the rocker shaft needs to move in and up like stated already. Called B3 and Mike made me a set of shims. B3 sells a rocker that is correct without shimming...
Roller conversion motors are noisy. I have one full roller big block, and a small block with roller rockers. Both have noisy valve trains. If you are confident nothing is loose, broken, maladjusted, or hitting something, welcome to the noisy valve train club.
Mr Moparts has them. I just rebuilt mine. They have kits for both front and back windows. You may have to call them for the front window kits, not listed on the website.

The rollers are busted. Took the door panel off and looked. Just wondering what the labor cost would be if I take it in. How long would it take to do one door?
The rollers are broken on the track. Plastic laying in the bottom of the door. Needs a rebuild kit.
The kit is about $90, does both doors. What can I expect labor to be to replace the rollers and plastic parts? 73 B body.
The trunk lid rattles badly. It is not glued to the support frame at all. What product can be used to seperate the two, or glue together the trunk outer skin to the inner structure?
