Rockers are thick and galvanized. I've seen them pitted but still quite strong. The sheetmetal over the rockers gets rust damaged and eaten up much easier.

This is on the drivers side quarter panel on front of the tire. So it is just sheet metal, not the rocker that we see rust bubbling.

You have to drill the underside of a 1966 hood for GTX scoops. 1967 has access holes stamped at factory, even on 4 doors and wagons. As for the corners maybe someone who owns both a 1966 and 1967 can check this out and let us know. @AR67GTX
