    WOT issue 2bbl 318

Lot of things could cause your issue, but the one that makes most sense is lack of fuel or running lean. I would install a fuel pressure gauge inline tape it to the windshield and do some WOT runs just to make sure supply is good. ON old cars I have had rusty fuel lines and cracking rubber...

    Engine oil questions

I use the AMSOIL Z-ROD® 10W-30 100% SYNTHETIC MOTOR OIL In my street car, mild hydraulic flat tappet, and a procharger I don't drive it much and I don't change unless it gets dark, couple years now and it still looks new.

    Detonation?

I use an engine software to generate an advance curve, and then recurve the distributor to eliminate detonation. Performance Trends makes the software, and I have a distributor machine, but if you have a buddy and some paper you can have them rev the engine at 200rpm increments and record the...

    727 torque converter drain back

TransGo shift kit has a new manual valve and a couple modifications that will cure the problem. Or as mentioned just slip it into neutral for a few seconds, fill the converter and then go into gear.

Flat Tappet Cam Info... Don't let the southern drawl fool ya... This guy knows what he's talking about.........

I lost a Huges cam several years ago, before all these issues with cam and lifter quality. When I got the cam and read the spring specs, I called Hughes and flat told them this cam will never live at these spring pressures, they assured me it would work just fine. Cam went flat in three passes...

I have to park one of my mopars on gravel next to my driveway this winter. Any suggestions on what I could do to help it not rot out the frame?

From what I have seen use jack stands to get it off the ground, if air can get under and around the car it will carry the moisture away. You can wrap with a tarp, but I have seen the wind move a tarp enough to wear off the paint, so you have to be careful with that.

    Which Camshaft For This Brute?

Get yourself a good engine program. I use https://www.performancetrends.com/Engine-Simulation.htm If you take the time to input good numbers it will give accurate results. And it will predict a lot of things already discussed, like cranking compression, idle vacuum, will plot an advance...

    nicks garage

I watch Nick from time to time. Nick is an old school mechanic, and the best thing about his channel is that he shows when things screw up, doesn't try to look smarter than he is. I built an engine dyno several years ago and his dyno secessions look and feel a lot like the ones I have done...

Correct installation of green axle bearings.

The collar is to lock the bearing on the axle. Old time mechanics call it a wedding ring. My main advice is that you install the ring correctly, it must be heated, before pushing it on against the bearing. If you don't heat it, it may distort and not hold the bearing in place properly. The...

    Kick down linkage/cable

The main thing is the movement of the throttle pressure control valve in the transmission. If you have the pan off hook up the cable or linkage whatever works best for your combo. Have somebody step the throttle to the floor and watch the throttle valve. At idle the lever should just touch the...
