I have an original trunk emblem that is in pretty nice condition. One pin is intact but the other one had a flat clip on it and it was tight on the car. and there is a little fine pitting and the hinge works fine. There is slight spider webbing on the chrome. The broken pin is under the cover...

There were several differences between early and late. Early had an external phillips head screw on the forward tip of the post that you used to tighten the head and the plate mirror that was glued into place. It also had two small verticle lines cast into the mirror head @ the 6 o'clock...
